Has 'The Traitors' been renewed for Season 5? Everything we know after pulse-pounding Season 4 finale
This story contains spoilers. Season 4 of 'The Traitors', hosted by Scottish actor Alan Cumming, came to a dramatic end on Thursday. As expected, anticipation for the upcoming season is at an all-time high. Although Peacock has yet to officially announce a potential release window for Season 5, we can make an educated guess. Season 5 of 'The Traitors' was greenlit way back in August 2024. One must keep in mind that the third season of the reality television show had premiered on the streaming platform back in January 2025. Several months of filming had gone into the show before its release, and the cast for the third season was announced in June 2024.
Peacock stuck to this pattern once again for Season 4, the cast for which was unveiled in June 2025. Given this established pattern, one might speculate that the cast for the upcoming fifth season will be announced in June 2026. Subsequently, the entire season might arrive sometime at the beginning of January, 2027. In the absence of any official declaration, however, all of this remains merely speculative. 
Regarding the Season 5 cast, it can be expected that Peacock will stick to its usual practice of drawing from other popular reality shows such as 'Big Brother', 'Love Island', and 'Survivor'. This means that any celebrity, ranging from Tyson Apostol to Vanessa Rousso, might make the cut. Even then, the competition among the Faithfuls and the Traitors within the Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands would be exemplified only if the cast hails from a widely diverse background.
In a remarkable twist of fate, the recently concluded season saw the first instance of a traitor being crowned as the final winner of the U.S. version of the game. Rob Rausch was crowned the winner on the finale episode. The 27-year-old professional snake wrangler and reality TV star from Alabama took home the ultimate prize pot of $200,000. The finale itself was quite memorable, with 'Dancing With The Stars' alum Mark Ballas being the final contestant who was 'murdered' in front of the other contestants.
This left Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski locked in a pitched battle against Eric Nam and Rausch. Following the Roundtable, Weir was first voted out, 3-2, followed by Lipinski, 3-1. Although the Traitors stood to win the contest with just Nam and Rausch remaining, the two decided to banish a final time, culminating in Rausch winning the title. All episodes of 'The Traitors' are available for streaming on Peacock.
