Yara's mom doesn't want her to go back to the USA

The family lands in Garmisch, Germany, where Yara's friend Karina has fled Ukraine's civil conflict. Karina's house was hit by a rocket just two days after she departed, and she's lucky to be alive. When Karina relocated to the United States, she dropped Yara off at the airport, and the pals assumed they'd see each other again in a few months. They're relieved to be reunited after more than two years apart. Over breakfast, Karina and Yara's mother both push her to stay in Europe a little longer, given that Jovi is ready to leave for a month away from home. Jovi is still irritated that he doesn't understand them when they don't speak English, and requests to be translated. He still insists on taking Yara home with him. Yara says in a confessional that Jovi's attempts to be domineering just made her want to stay even more: "He doesn’t want me to come because he knows I have a support system here, and he knows I can take care of myself without him."

Michael meets Angela's TikTok crush

Michael shows Angela that he can now swim, and they embrace in the pool. Angela has never felt sexier in her new physique than she does right now. "I’m super thankful that I didn’t divorce you," she exclaims.

Michael says in a confessional that he's upping his love game, so she won't consider visiting her TikTok duet partner Billy in Canada. Billy is suffering from kidney disease, and Angela has agreed to come and help him out for a bit, but Michael suspects they're attempting to hook up. Michael gives Angela champagne and heart jewelry as a surprise and urges her not to travel to Canada. Angela would like not to have to pick between her spouse and a sick friend. She plans to FaceTime Billy with Michael so that Michael realizes nothing is funny. Michael inquires Billy whether he has a crush on Angela. Billy stutters and removes his spectacles. "I adore your wife, I think she’s a fantastic lady," he responds. "She has a beautiful heart, but I do not have a crush on your wife."

Angela plans to head to Canada and tells Michael he may leave her if he doesn't like it. When Billy refers to Angela as "Angel," Michael erupts with expletives, storms out of the room, and slams the hotel room door.

Usman drops a bombshell on Kimberly

Kimberly, who is back in San Diego with her son Jamal, says that her mother died a few weeks after she returned from Nigeria. Having looked after her mother for the past eight years, she wonders whom she will look after now, and Jamal quips that she can look after Usman because they are similar in age. Kimberly claims Usman can care for himself, but reveals in a confessional that she wishes Usman would travel to California more than ever. Kimberly has quit smoking and started walking and exercising more because she knows her mother would want her to. Kimberly video chats with Usman after her walk, and he tells her that he's thinking of adopting his eldest brother's youngest boy, which would eliminate the need for a second marriage. She is taken aback and asks who is going to parent him. "I’m asking, do you wanna raise him?" Usman responds, but Kimberly is unable to comprehend what is going on.

Later, Kimberly and Jamal visit an East African restaurant, where she explains Usman's latest proposal, which Jamal also finds startling. He acknowledges that he is still struggling to accept Usman's presence in their lives. Kimberly suggests that Jamal accompany her to Nigeria to finally meet Usman, and he accepts. "It’ll be interesting — my first time leaving is to meet your Nigerian superstar rapper person!"

Libby wants to give birth in America

On the way home, Andrei and Libby discuss how horribly their meeting with her sisters went, though he doesn't seem to mind that it was a disaster. Libby now wishes she had told Jenn and Becky Jenn she was pregnant before going public with the news on social media. Andrei believes that their preparations for a family counseling session are a waste of time. "Andrei can be a little harsh at times, which definitely isn’t helping," she admits in a confessional.

They go shopping for baby things to divert themselves, but Andrei is worried about his deportation. They haven't heard anything in two months after his interview with immigration authorities. If he needs to return to Moldova, he says, "you’re gonna have to come with me."

The issue is that Libby wants to give birth in the United States. "I don’t wanna deliver alone, but I don’t wanna have the baby in another country," she explains. "I’m gonna cry! You can’t not be here for the baby’s birth."

Jenny talks to the immigration officer behind Sumit's back

Jenny's daughter Christina and her wife Jen join Jenny and her husband for a Bollywood dancing session, which they all appear to enjoy. Sumit doesn't think he needs lessons because he's Indian, but he rapidly realizes he's rusty and doesn't feel as youthful as he used to. Jenny is really decent in his opinion, but she needs to move her shoulders more than shake her ass. Sumit reveals that he's going to meet with his parents after class, and Christina recommends that they all go together. She claims they aren't here to offend them or their culture, but she wants to ensure Jenny isn't being insulted. Sumit should ponder about it. He doesn't want to be in a position where he has to justify his parents in front of Americans. Jenny surreptitiously video chats with an Indian immigration lawyer the next day to figure out what she has to do to get Sumit to America. Jenny is confused when the lawyer asks if she is a spinster. He says that Sumit will require a police clearance certificate to depart, which he may not be able to obtain if someone files a complaint about the marriage, as his parents may have done. "Maybe the thought of taking Sumit away from his family to America may make them rethink how they treat us," Jenny adds in a solo sit-down. "But if it backfires, getting the visa process started and moving back to America may be our best shot at happiness."

Liz feels abandoned by Big Ed

The couple's initial engagement party in San Diego resulted in a scuffle, with the ring being thrown into a bush. They're ready to attend their second engagement celebration, which will be hosted in a castle-like edifice in his homeland of Arkansas. Liz requests that Big Ed not leave her alone because it's all his family and friends, and she only knows his sister Christine and her husband. She is concerned that somebody will be able to talk to him about their relationship. Big Ed leaves Liz alone as soon as they arrive, despite having assured her that he would be with her the entire time. In one confessional, she laments, "Typical Ed. He told me he wouldn’t leave my side. The second we walk in the door, boom! He’s gone."

Christine claims in her own confessional that their mother was driven out of Big Ed's house as a result of this relationship, something her brother did not plan. Even though she feels Liz is a "great girl," Mom needs time to accept it.

Liz feels glad that the gathering went well enough. "Overall, it was great," she said of the engagement party redo. "It didn’t end in disaster, but we have a lot to work out… If we had that kind of support from his mother or his daughter, it would be way easier."
