NEW DELHI, INDIA: '90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?' cast member Jenny Slatten's return to America may be more difficult than she had planned, and not just because her husband Sumit Singh is still hesitant to leave India. Jenny is considering relocating with her Indian husband, but their significant age gap raises red flags for the American immigration system.

Jenny and her Indian husband Sumit have faced various challenges in their 10-year relationship due to their age difference. Jenny's willingness to return to the United States with her husband, despite his ongoing hesitation, is the next hurdle in their rocky journey. While prior attempts to return to her homeland saw the 64-year-old try in vain to persuade Sumit, she appears to make a stronger move in the forthcoming episode of '90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?' by involving an immigration lawyer. In a sneak peek from Sunday's episode, audiences can see the TV celeb speak with an immigration attorney for the first time about their case.

Jenny stated in a confessional that her husband Sumit had no knowledge she spoke with an immigration lawyer, and she intended to keep it that way. According to her, alerting Sumit about the meeting would anger him because he had no plans to leave India. "I feel bad for going behind his back, but I don’t want to scare him by telling him I’m starting this process," the star explained. "Sumit doesn’t even want to consider moving to America. So if he knows that I’m talking to an immigration lawyer, it might upset him," she added.

The attorney inquired about Jenny's marital status for his papers. When asked what he meant by "spinster," the lawyer answered that the term referred to a single lady who had never married. The reality personality then revealed that she divorced her last spouse over 20 years ago. Jenny shrugged off the "spinster" comment, knowing that the immigration attorney's statement about her supposed "spinsterhood" might come back to haunt them in the future, given their 30-year age difference. The lawyer went on to say that the immigration authorities would understandably be perplexed as to why a 64-year-old woman would marry a man in his early thirties. Also, the attorney informed Jenny that any official decision on Sumit's possible visa would not be made for at least two years.

Jenny revealed in her confessional that while she recognized the age difference between her and Sumit would raise eyebrows, she hoped the duration of their 10-year relationship would indicate that they sincerely love each other. "We’ve been together 10 years," she said jokingly. "First, we had to go through proving our love to Sumit’s parents, and now we have to continue doing it for immigration. I mean, we’ve stayed together this long — there’s a reason for it. Obviously, we love each other," she added.

Jenny's appointment with an immigration lawyer comes after the '90 Day Fiance' star's daughter expressed her displeasure with Sumit's family for shunning the pair while she was visiting her mother in India. Despite his family's disapproval of his marriage to Jenny, the 33-year-old stayed steadfast in his resolve to support his wife. Nevertheless, in the hopes of reconciling with his estranged family, the Indian groom is adamant about staying in India.

'90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?' Season 7 airs Sundays at 8 pm ET on TLC and Discovery+.
