The duo met in Nashville and began songwriting together in a tent. Shay Mooney recalled the time and stated, 'We met in December at his house at a party." Talking to Taste of Country, he continued, "I get to this party, I'm walking in this old house, a terrible house of course, a typical Nashville starting artist house."
As he walked up to the living room, which was a tent, he "had no money to pay for heat, so I went to the thrift store and bought a bunch of bedsheets," he said. "We tented the living room and we retained the heat in there." It was in that makeshift tent that Dana and Shay started jamming and they have since written almost three songs a day.
