AMAs 2020: Dan + Shay wins all 3 awards, including Favorite Country Duo, fans say ‘this couldn't be more rigged’
Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney of the country duo, Dan + Shay, has possibly bagged all the biggest awards this year at different award shows. Continuing their winning streak, the band took home the Favorite Duo or Group – Country at the 48th edition of Amerian Music Awards.
The duo was nominated in three categories, including the latest one. The other two were Collaboration of the Year and Favourite Song for their track ’10,000 Hours’ featuring Justin Bieber. And guess what, they even scored the wins here as well. Dan + Shay won against nominees Florida Georgia Line and Old Dominion. Apart from winning the awards, the band also serenaded the audience with their performance on their hit single ‘I Should Probably Go To Bed.’
The Internet kept a sharp eye on the AMAs 2020 and was quick to react on Dan + Shay’s third win of the evening. The world’s largest fan-voted show, American Music Awards of 2020, was hosted by Taraji P Henson on Sunday, November 22. The event held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. This year’s ceremony also featured several new categories, including new rap and hip-hop honours along with several new awards for Latin music.
Kristin Cavallari, Ciara, Christian Serratos, David Dobrik, Laverne Cox, Derek Hough, Paris Hilton, Tayshia Adams and Anthony Anderson were the presenters of the evening. Global musicians like Jennifer Lopez and Maluma, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny, Bebe Rexha with Doja Cat, Bell Biv DeVoe, BTS, Dan + Shay, Dua Lipa, Lewis Capaldi, Lil Baby, Lil Nas X, Nelly, Shawn Mendes and The Weeknd with Kenny G were listed as performers at the AMAs 2020.
