'One Piece' Season 2: We're sure you did not catch this neat Easter Egg ft. Prince of Elbaph
The Easter Eggs in 'One Piece' Season 2 left fans in a tizzy, and one of them happens to be about the Prince of Elbaph. The franchise knows him better as Loki, the son of King Harald and Queen Estrid. And in quintessential Eiichiro Oda fashion, the Netflix series introduced the character by sneaking his silhouette on the show.
The subtle surprise can be seen when Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) interacts with Dorry at Little Garden. Eagle-eyed fans noticed giant wooden models carved on the island, and one of them is Loki with his signature small eyes and a bug-shaped crown.

Per ScreenRant, the Easter Egg serves as a subtle nod to the parallels between the live-action series and the current arc in Oda's manga version. The outlet noted that the manga sees Luffy forming an alliance with Loki, whose Devil Fruit allows him to transform into a 'mammoth, island-sized black dragon.'
It's worth noting that Loki is one of the central characters introduced into the storyline and is among the strongest forces to cross paths with 'One Piece's' mysterious secret villain. On the series front, Loki's introduction might not be how the fans envisioned it, but it does serve as a neat nod to the character.
For those unaware, Loki is asked by his father to kill him and deliver Elbaph from the World Government's relentless attempts to control the giants. The character later sets out to sea, but is captured by the Shanks and imprisoned for half a dozen years before he is freed by Luffy.
With the kingdom of Alabasta in focus in Season 3, Luffy and the Straw Hats continue on their journey in search of 'One Piece. However, with more threats incoming, it remains to be seen if there is a Loki appearance in the offing at some point in the series. With 'One Piece' Season 2 done, the focus has shifted to the already-in-production Season 3.
At the time of writing, there is no official logline for the third instalment, but the show is expected to premiere sometime in 2027. After a delay between Seasons 1 and 2 due to strikes, the new season might premiere early. The series is currently filming in South Africa.
In related news, Godoy spoke of the threats Luffy and the Straw Hats have faced. While Joe Manganiello's Mr. Sir Crocodile, the infamous head honcho of the Baroque Works, is seen as the big bad, the actor also picked two more names. "It's the otter and the vulture," he told Collider.
Godoy continued, "Come on! The Unluckies? Those guys. Listen, listen, I'm a big Mr. 0 fan, alright? But the truth is, in my opinion, one of the best villains in the show is definitely the Unluckies, because it's an otter in pajamas on a vulture with a machine gun. When you think about the great characters of TV, you’ve got Walter White, you’ve got Tony Soprano, you’ve got all the great characters of TV. What do they share in common? They are iconic. They make a presence when they are in the scene. That's what they do."
