Pacy ‘One Piece’ Season 2 trailer puts the spotlight on Baroque Works
Netflix dropped a new trailer for 'One Piece' Season 2, labeled 'Into the Grand Line'. The focus is on a new breed of villains set to be quite the challenge for Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) on his quest. The sequel to the live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s cult manga series introduces the syndicate, Baroque Works.
The organization, safe to say, is a nasty piece of work featuring Lera Abova as Miss All-Sunday, David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9 and Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek.
Set to release March 10, the high-seas fantasy adventure series follows Luffy's journey to find the elusive treasure known as One Piece in his bid to become the all-powerful King of the Pirates. According to Variety, Netflix renewed ‘One Piece’ for a third season back in August. The renewal came months ahead of the Season 2 premiere. The live-action adaptation launched in 2023 to massive success, topping Netflix’s Global Top 10 for eight consecutive weeks. It also hit No. 1 in more than 75 countries, including Japan, which was a first for an English-language Netflix original.
Per the official synopsis, Season 2 will "unleash fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet." It adds, "Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line — a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. As they journeythrough this unpredictable realm in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies."
In related news, the new season will also introduce Tony Tony Chopper (voiced by Mikaela Hoover). In a previous interview with Collider, the 'Superman' actor weighed in on the role. "So when I got the audition for One Piece, I was filming [Netflix's] 'Beef,' and I really just wanted to focus on 'Beef.' I got an audition from my voice-over agent, Stephanie, who was so nice through all of this, and I said, 'I'm passing on this, Stephanie. I need to really be focused on 'Beef.'"
"It’s crazy to think about now, but they don't have a breakdown of what it's for. When they give you those things, they don't give you, like, 'This is for One Piece and Chopper,' so I had no idea what it was for, and I just wanted to really focus on 'Beef.'"
Hoover further added, "People want you to sound like the anime version. They have an idea of what they want you to sound like, and I just took my own spin, clearly, from the audition and from the session of how I felt he would be. I'm also, as you know, acting him out. All the facial expressions, all the movement, everything is me. So, I just took a bit of who I am, circling back to the beginning and my experiences, and putting that into Chopper."
'One Piece' Season 2 arrives March 10, 2026, on Netflix.
