'The Voice' slammed for ruining Asher HaVon, Madison Curbelo and Serenity Arce's act with 'creepy' teddy bear
UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIFORNIA: On May 13, Asher HaVon from Team Reba, Madison Curbelo from Team Dan + Shay, and Serenity Arce from Team Chance performed as a unique trio in 'The Voice' semi-final. They performed Coldplay's smash 'Fix You' with professional lyrical dancers that fans thought were anything but professional.
Whether inspired by 'If' or not, viewers found it disturbing to see a dancer approached by a gigantic teddy bear (teddy mouse?) on a bedroom set. Could any of the viewers pay attention to the singers?

While some viewers were busy suffering pre-nightmares, others rushed to Reddit to leave comments. One user commented, "The dancers during this performance are so distracting."
While another person chimed in, "If I awoke to a giant bear in my room... I'm sure as hell not gonna try to dance with it." Others questioned, "I hate whatever is going on with the dancers and costumes, WHAT IS THIS."
One user further wrote, "I HATE it." A fifth user commented, "IM SO DISTURBED."
One person wondered, "This is my first season watching The Voice (it's always on when I'm at work), and I was wondering if this was a normal thing on the show. I hate this lol." Some begged, "GET THAT SCARY A-S CARE BEAR OUTTA HEREEE."
One user further wrote, "I cant stop laughing at this interpretive dance." Another sighed, "The best trio and it’s ruined by showing the dancer and furry the whole performance."
Others applauded the singers, writing, "Props to those 3 for staying serious because girl what." Another person added, "Well this ridiculousness is distracting from good vocals. What was that run Asher .... we did not need a bear."
One user asked, "How creepy was that?" Another person wrote, "The bear and danced needed to disappear."
Who is Asher HaVon in 'The Voice' Season 25?
Asher grew up in Selma, Alabama, surrounded by gospel singers. President Obama visited Selma in 2015 to deliver a speech honoring the 50th anniversary of the 1965 march from Selma to Montgomery in support of African American civil rights.
Asher auditioned for a seat in the choir, which was scheduled to sing John Legend's song "Glory." The choir director was so impressed by Asher that he led the choir that day, performing in front of 200,000 spectators.
This was also a watershed moment in his relationship with his father, which has always been strained. His father survived a car accident a few years ago, which strengthened their friendship even more.
They now often communicate, and he strongly supports Asher's music. Asher's mother encouraged him to sing when he was little.
He calls her his singing sergeant and is eager to make her proud on 'The Voice'.
Who is Madison Curbelo in 'The Voice' Season 25?
Madison auditioned for Season 20, and it was a life-changing event. At the time, she was a freshman at Berklee College of Music.
Madison exited the stage alone, disappointed that she had not received a chair turn, as her parents were unable to attend owing to the pandemic's early stages. When Blake Shelton recommended she obtain more experience, she listened and proceeded to perform in numerous locations.
Madison feels more confident now that she has the backing of her parents and years of gigging experience. She graduated from college and continues to pursue her passion for music, developing her own style and sharing it online.
She has supported herself financially by working as a theatrical director, giving private piano lessons, and teaching musical theater.
Who is Serenity Arce in 'The Voice' Season 25?
Serenity auditioned for Season 21 at the age of 14 but was not cast. The coaches advised her to practice more and improve as a vocalist.
She was interested in musical theater, which Ariana Grande valued and thought was an excellent environment for voice development. Following her audition, Serenity concentrated on discovering her voice and attending weekly vocal classes.
She arranged minor engagements at local gatherings to get experience and improve her talents. She currently works at a nearby boba café to offset her bills and has recently obtained her driver's license.
Dance remains a significant part of her life, and she is a member of a couple of dance teams, where she practices several times each week.
'The Voice' Season 25 airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 pm ET on NBC.
