The viewers of ‘The Voice’ Season 21 on Monday, October 4 saw a 20-year-old contestant named Libianca landing in front of the judges in order to perform her rendition of SZA’s ‘Good Days’. Thanks to the montage, the audience got a bit familiar with Libianca’s background. The talented singer hails from Cameroon and recently shifted to Minneapolis. Prior to her performance, Libianca also revealed that she was a huge fan of Ariana Grande.

The versatile crooner easily managed to impress two judges, namely Ariana Grande and Blake Shelton. The ‘Thank U, Next’ hitmaker was the first one to press the red buzzer soon followed by Blake. Kelly Clarkson and John Legend decided to sit out for this one.

Why did Libianca pick Team Blake over Team Ariana?

After Libianca wowed the judges with her stunning performance, Ariana praised her saying, “I'm obsessed with you. I'm freaking out, I really hope you pick me. You're so good, you're so beautiful, I'm obsessed." Blake then quipped, “I'm obviously the coach for you."  When Libianca asked him to explain his statement, the country legend asserted, “Yeah, I'm the country guy, but you know what? I've won this show with all different kinds of artists."

He further shared, “The coach and artist relationship is about whatever I can do that can help you be the best at whatever you want to be”, concluding, "That's my job. I'd be honored to be your coach." It was now over to Libianca to make the final choice. Speaking right before her final decision, she said, “I asked God to give me a sign, and somebody said something that gave me that sign." She left the judges and the audience in shock after she opted for Team Blake in the end despite being an Ariana Grande fan. Speaking to the cameras backstage, she explained, “I have a feeling that Blake is gonna be the one to really just help me do my thing.”

‘Genuinely PISSED at Libianca’

Social media users were in for a surprise after Libianca picked Team Blake over Ariana Grande. “WOW genuinely PISSED at Libianca @ArianaGrande you have got to steal her! @blakeshelton cannot handle all that talent!” said one user as another posted, “Libianca, girl! That was gas, not God. You picked the wrong coach.”

He won’t display her voice how it needs to be. Tired of these ari fans not choosing her when she turns.” One user asked, “Why did Libianca choose Blake???” as another tweeted, “She threw away her dreams away so fast.” One person concluded, “Should've been team Ariana im crying.”
