Kelly Clarkson labels herself an 'idiot' for not saving Jershika Maple

Jershika Maple displayed her vocal prowess in order to make it to Top 11. As she concluded her performance, we could see Kelly getting teary-eyed. After her set, Kelly jokingly called herself an “idiot” as she did not save Jershika during the battle rounds. For the uninitiated, the 25-year-old crooner originally hailed from Team Kelly but she lost the battle round to Paris Winningham. Both Ariana Grande and John Legend tried to steal her but she eventually picked Team John to continue the rest of the journey on the show.

While speaking to Jershika, Kelly was seen wiping off her tears. “I’m sorry, I was like pull it together, it’s so UGH you are such a beautiful, majestic messenger. What a perfect song what a perfect moment, what a perfect like just story to tell for this moment”, said Kelly. She added, “It was packaged so beautifully, It was so beautiful Jershika I’m such an idiot. I should’ve never let you go from my team, but I hope you come back and kick my behind.” John, who has been smitten by her voice from the very beginning, too praised his team member saying that they were all honored to be able to witness moments like this because she “sings her butt off.”
