'The Voice' 2022 Battles: Gwen Stefani picks Rowan Grace as winner, upset fans say 'Nobody stole Jillian Jordyn?'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Voice' coach Gwen Stefani had a pretty tough task at hand when she was made to pick a winner between Jillian Jordyn and Rowan Grace following their battles performance. While nobody was envious of Gwen's tricky position, fans however were left feeling unhappy with the outcome of her decision.
The 'Hollaback Girl' singer roped in Sean Paul as the battle advisor for her Team Gwen's members. She was hoping for the Jamaican singer to impart his wisdom on stage presence and entertain the crowds through his mentoring. After watching Jillian and Rowan's rehearsal performance to Lauren Spencer Smith's 'Fingers Crossed', Sean urged the duo to tap into their emotions and connect with their performance. Jillian and Rowan finally stepped onto the stage and delivered a performance that had all the coaches at the edge of their seats. Though both of them gave an incredible performance, the coaches couldn't help but notice how Jillian started off feeling shaky but eventually got back on track, on the other hand, Rowan was flawless throughout the performance. Gwen picked Rowan as the winner because she believed Rowan was more ready at this point compared to Jillian.

Many fans also noticed the drastic improvement in Jillian's performance since her blind audition. A fan commented on the show's YouTube clip of the battles round with, "This really just goes to show Jillian absolutely can sing. There’s no question about it. It was just simply the nerves that got to her in the blind auditions. I got chills at her first verse. They both are absolutely incredible, go girls!" "I feel like Rowan definitely won this battle. However I will say that Jillian definitely improved greatly since her underwhelming blind audition. She really seemed more comfortable on stage and didn’t seem so anxious. Gwen has seriously gotten better as a coach," observed a fan. "Wow Jillian was incredibly improved from her (honestly, awful) audition. This is a hard choice though. They both showed up and showed out," echoed a fan.
'The Voice' Season 22 airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.
