Will Austin Montgomery win 'The Voice' 2022 Battles? Fans root for Tyler Fussell and him to start a band
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Voice' Season 22's Battles round kicked off on a pretty high note with Team Blake's Austin Montgomery and Tanner Fussell's high-energy performance.
The duo performed to Johnny Cash's hit anthem 'Folsom Prison Blues' after being mentored by their coach Blake Shelton and guest mentor Jimmie Allen. Right off the bat, the duo managed to impress the celebrity coaches with their impeccable vocals during the rehearsals, leaving Jimmie wondering why he was even there. Though both Austin and Tanner had their own strengths, Jimmie favored Tanner owing to his distinct "Southern rock vibe". After a lot of practice, Austin and Tanner took to the stage and delivered a jaw-dropping performance. Instead of trying to one-up each other, the duo sang in perfect harmony and cheered for each other.

By the end of their performance, the coaches couldn't stop raving about the duo's performance. Gwen picked Austin as her winner, while John chose Tanner. Unfortunately, Camila Cabello couldn't decide on a winner for her as she was impressed by both their performances. While we will have to wait until Tuesday night to see who Blake picks as the winner of the battles round, in the meanwhile, fans already picked their winner. Many fans are rooting for Austin to win the battle round.
A fan commented on the show's YouTube clip of the performance, "Man that’s tough. Gotta go with Austin but he needs to keep more of that edge and energy in all his stuff." "I’d pick Austin. He makes old school, bluesy type country sound fresher," wrote a fan. "I could listen to Austin all day. Great voice! I think he could go places we haven't heard yet," added a fan. "I don’t even like country but this is so good. I’d choose Austin, his voice captivated me," shared a fan.
Despite Austin emerging as a clear frontrunner, that doesn't mean fans weren't impressed by Tanner. In fact, fans loved the chemistry between Austin and tanner so much that they began demanding for the duo to team up and perform together after the competition. A fan expressed, "They should become a duo outside the show." "I'll like to see these two perform together more often even after voice!!!" seconded a fan. "This should be a new duo taking the music world by storm," predicted a fan. "Agree with other comments here. If these two don't make it to the finals, they need to connect after The Voice and tour as a duo. I'd sure pay money to see them in concert!
