Numerous instances exist of road trips gone awry, and the upcoming horror flick 'The Strangers: Chapter 1' will be the latest addition to this genre, recounting the story of a road trip gone awry.

The film, which is directed by Renny Harlin, centers on a couple whose otherwise ordinary road journey is upended when they get targeted by a trio of psychotic strangers wearing masks.

The movie, which is scheduled to be released on Friday, May 17, 2024, will have its Chapters 2 and 3 released in 2024.

The plot of the movie revolves around Maya (Madelaine Petsch) and Ryan (Froy Gutierrez), a young couple who take a road trip to the Pacific Northwest to start again.

However, things take a dramatic turn when the young couple is forced to seek refuge in an isolated Airbnb home.

As time passes, the pair becomes the target of three masked killers. What appears to be an idyllic vacation becomes hazardous when a cat-and-mouse chase commences as Maya and Ryan battle to save themselves.

Madelaine Petsch will play the character Maya in the film. The American actress and social media sensation is best remembered for her role as Cheryl Blossom in the blockbuster teen drama series 'Riverdale'.

Petsch, who was born on August 18, 1994, faced the camera for the first time for a Coca-Cola commercial in 2014.

The actress also launched her YouTube channel to introduce viewers to her real-life personality and interests outside of acting.

Since then, he has portrayed a range of characters in a bait to establish himself in the entertainment industry.

Born on December 21, 1987, she polished her craft by taking part in theatrical works that gained critical praise at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Her acting career began when she appeared in recurrent roles on 'Holby City' and 'Waterloo Road'. Shenton also appeared in the drama series 'Switched at Birth' in 2014.
