After Travis crawled into Madelaine's social media DMs, the former lovers began dating in 2017. Travis made numerous cameos in Madelaine's YouTube videos during their time together, and they indulged in a lot of PDA. Travis confirmed the couple's breakup on Instagram in February 2020, after three years together. "While it pains me our journey has come to a close," the artist said at the time, "I mean it when I say I’m so incredibly grateful to have shared the last 3 years with someone as compassionate, smart & wonderful as Madelaine."

Travis snuck into Madelaine's Facebook DMs, and the rest, as they say, is history. In January of Riverdale's first season, he sent her a Facebook message congratulating her on the show. He had tried out for Jughead's role. The two had mutual acquaintances by chance, so they added each other. From January through February, they only seldom spoke, if at all, until she was bored in L.A. on the day she returned from season 1, and he contacted her to invite her out to see a movie. Since that day in February, the two have hung out and spent every single day together in L.A.
Travis made his first appearance on Madelaine's YouTube channel in August 2017 during one of her daily vlogs. Madelaine then put Travis' 'Riverdale' knowledge to the test in another YouTube video in October of the same year.
The pair got together to celebrate Valentine's Day. The musician used Instagram to wish the Riverdale star and his then-girlfriend on the special occasion.
Madelaine took to Instagram Stories in August 2020, months after the pair broke up, to support her ex-boyfriend following the release of his track "Eyes Wide Shut." She commented at the time, “I remember when you sent me this demo a couple of months ago. "You haven’t put out music in over three years but you worked your ass off on this and I’m so proud of you!"
