All major events that 'The Simpsons' predicted correctly in 2021
The long-running 'The Simpsons' show is widely famous among fans for its ability to predict the future, showing events that actually went on to happen for real. The show is somehow eerily good at what it's does, parodying the world so perfectly that life imitates fiction. 'The Simpsons' predicted Donald Trump's presidency to the erection of the London skyscraper The Shard in the past. 2021 was no different, with the show successfully predicting quite a few world events. Here is a list of the few things that the iconic animated TV show predicted well ahead of time in 2021.

Richard Branson's space flight
Richard Branson, 71, launched himself on a space flight in July 2021 and traveled to the edge of space on board a "Virgin Galactic" flight. This made pictures of Richard Branson from a 2014 episode of The Simpsons go viral and it also made him the first spaceflight founder to actually travel to space in his own ship. His experience in the journey was documented and shared on the internet.
The footage happened to be strangely similar to a scene in a 2014 episode of 'The Simpsons' called "The War of Art," the 15th episode of the show's 25th series. In the show, art forger Klaus Ziegler tells Lisa his "forgeries give pleasure to people all over the world" before people looking at art in various locations are shown. Richard seems to be enjoying the fake art while floating around in the spaceship with his hands resting behind his head.
Joe Biden's presidency
On January 20, 2021, Joe Biden, 79, took over Donald Trump and was sworn the 46th President of the United States. This one 'The Simpsons' did not predict word for word. But in the 2000 episode of the show titled 'Bart To The Future', they predicted that Trump would be President one day and that his successor would be left with debt. While the fictional Lisa gets to be the President on the show, in real life, we got Biden.
In a scene from the episode, we see Lisa at the Oval Office where she says, "We inherited quite the budget crunch from President Trump," addressing a meeting. When Secretary Van Houten asks how bad it really is, she says that they are broke. Creator Matt Groening told The Guardian: "We predicted that he would be president back in 2000 — but [Trump] was, of course, the most absurd placeholder joke name that we could think of at the time, and that's still true. It's beyond satire."
Sixteen years after the episode was aired, Trump was elected President of the United States. Writer Dan Greaney told The Hollywood Reporter: "It was a warning to America. That just seemed like the logical last stop before hitting bottom. It was pitched because it was consistent with the vision of America going insane."
Kamala Harris's inauguration outfit
In the same episode of Trump's appearance in The Simpsons, the show appeared to have predicted Kamala Harris's vice presidency outfit to have been the same as that of Lisa's. Kamala Harris, 57, attended the inauguration in a bright purple outfit by American designers Christopher John Rogers and Sergio Hudson. She accessorized her outfit with a custom pearl necklace by Puerto Rican designer Wilfredo Rosado. This outfit had almost an uncanny resemblance to what Lisa wore in the episode of 'The Simpsons' where she is seen taking over as the President of the United States.
Tom Hanks hosts 'Inauguration Special'
Coming yet back to the inauguration this year, the event was scheduled at quite a tense time when the Capitol riots were being talked about. Needless to mention, the inaugural was also held even as the Covid pandemic raged on. The inauguration special was therefore a low-key program but featured Hollywood actor Tom Hanks. Coincidentally, in the 2007 Simpsons movie, Tom appeared to make a cameo appearance.
US Capitol riot
The Simpsons may have also predicted the US Capitol riot, which occurred in January 2021 after Joe Biden took over the presidency from Donald Trump. The riot was caused by an angry mob of Trump supporters who took to the streets and caused chaos and unrest demanding that Trump's defeat in the 2020 Presidential Elections be overturned.
Strangely enough, in the 'Treehouse Of Horror XXXI' episode, Homer sleeps through the day and misses going to vote. When he wakes up, he wakes up tp utter chaos and mayhem on the streets. Homer is later seen on Inauguration Day in a homemade body armor. He is sitting on his roof as he watches the city of Springfield burn around him.

'The Simpsons' predicted the Covid pandemic in their 1993 episode titled 'Marge in Chains' which was based on the Osaka Flu. But it now seems likely that the show has already predicted the advent of the new Covid variant as well. A fan of the show put together various montages from creator Matt Groening's other show 'Futurama,' in which an alien claims that he is from a planet called Omnicron Persei 8.
