Will Chadwick Boseman posthumously bag Best Actor at Critics Choice Awards 2021 and win big at Oscars 2021?
Chadwick Boseman has left behind a legacy of immense talent. A legacy that is certainly being honored over this Awards Season. The actor, just a few days ago at the Golden Globe Awards, became only the second posthumous winner in the Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama category. Boseman won the award for his performance as Levee, a talented jazz musician in 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom'. It's a streak that is expected to continue at the Critics Choice Awards as well and all the way to the final honor in the Academy Awards.
Boseman's fellow nominees at the Golden Globe awards were Gary Oldman ('Mank'), Riz Ahmed ('Sound of Metal'), Anthony Hopkins ('The Father') and Tahar Rahim ('The Mauritanian'). This marked Boseman's first Golden Globes nomination and win.
At the Critics Choice Awards, Boseman is up for two awards — one for Best Actor in 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom' and another for Best Supporting Actor in Spike Lee's 'Da 5 Bloods'. Boseman joins a small list of actors who have received nominations posthumously including James Dean, Heath Ledger, Massimo Troisi and Spencer Tracy.
