George Floyd protests: Did ‘The Simpsons’ predict White House lights out? Fans say ‘everything is planned’

After the White House lights were shut off, Twitter was bursting with memes and jokes on the president, and several TV buffs found a connection to old episodes of 'The Simpsons'

With the recent riots setting cities on flame, the internet seems to have become quite vocal about their opinions on the incident that started it all. It started with the death of George Floyd, an African-American man from Minnesota and now celebrities and commoners are coming together to share powerful posts on systemic racism.

Amid all the ruckus and nationwide protests, Secret Service agents rushed US President Donald Trump and his family to an underground bunker in the White House fearing possible terror attacks. Not just that, at the White House, they shut off all the lights. Slamming the darkness that symbolizes fear and cowardice from the First Family, people were outraged and started trolling Trump as the #BunkerBoy

In the next few hours, Twitter was bursting with memes and jokes on the president and several TV buffs found a connection to old episodes of 'The Simpsons'. Sharing snippets and screenshots from the animated show, fans are wondering how the satirical sitcom created by Matt Groening got everything right.

"Did The Simpsons predict the #mineapolis riots? Thoughts? Amerika," one tweet read and another said, "Whoever made the Simpson they know some shit they ain’t telling us!!" Flabbergasted, one fan said, "NOOOO WHY DO THE SIMPSONS PREDICT EVERYTHING EVER!"

If that was not enough, several fans are now sharing a cartoon of Trump in a coffin from the TV show and saying, "Hopefully this comes true." One went on to say, "Weird ass cartoon, they see everything," and another said, "They're behind it all."

Many thought The Simpsons were behind it all or probably, they were from the future. "Are they really from the future or are they masterminding all of this?" one tweet read and another said, "They definitely from the future 100%." Another said, "They didn’t predict anything, they’re just orchestrating everything."

One fan went on to say, "The Simpsons have been foreshadowing VERY specific events since they came out. They told us about 9/11, the Ebola outbreak, autocorrect, the orange dimwit's presidency & his assassination..." Another said, "The Ebola virus was already known prior to the airing of the episode."

One viewer posted, "If The Simpsons make a show on the world ending u know it's game over." And one Twitter user posted, "Y'all just really need to look into predictive programming. everything is planned. they put it on TV so then when it comes true we are not as surprised. they do this w every movie, show, etc."

Coming to their defense, one fan said, "Unpopular opinion: The Simpson’s aren’t “time travelers” or “predicting the future” our world is just becoming so messed up that the satirical events depicted in a cartoon are starting to mirror what’s happening in our real life." Another said, "It's funny. Jus when I think they can't get more into the future, they come out wit some other stuff." And one concluded: "2020 is about to be based on The Simpsons."
