From 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' to 'Riverdale', we all have binged-watch them with pleasure and Netflix blesses us with another - 'The Sandman', which is based on Gaiman’s dark fantasy comic book of the same name, published by DC Comics. 

The official synopsis of the new Netflix series read: "A rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend are seamlessly interwoven, The Sandman follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic, and human- mistakes he's made during his vast existence." What was Sturridge's first TV appearance?

Sturridge began as a child actor and he was in the 1996 television adaptation of Gulliver's Travels, directed by his father and co-starring his mother. He re-emerged in 2004 with 'Vanity Fair', and 'Being Julia'. In 2005 he played William Herbert, 3rd Earl of Pembroke in BBC4's 'A Waste of Shame'.

He got into acting at the young age of 11. Over the years, the 36-year-old kept appearing in small and big roles. He did partake in quite a few broadway plays as well. In the Spring of 2013, he was seen in 'Orphans' as Phillip, who is developmentally disabled, for which he was nominated for the Tony Award, Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a play for his performance. In 2017, he starred as Winston Smith in the Broadway production of '1984'. In 2019, Sturridge starred opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in the Broadway play 'Sea Wall/A Life', for which he received a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a play.
