'The Sandman' dethrones 'Virgin River' in Netflix Top 10 list, fans say streamer would be foolish to not renew it
Netflix’s newest fantasy series, ‘The Sandman’, was undoubtedly one of the most highly-anticipated shows of the year and a lot of people were keen to watch it. Based on the comics written by Neil Gaiman, the show explores the journey of Dream (Tom Sturridge) after he gets trapped by a wizard. The wizard gets really nervous about his safety and keeps Dream imprisoned in a glass bottle for decades. However, a time comes when Dream finally manages to get out of the prison and embarks on a journey to find his lost objects of power.
Viewers had to wait for a long time to watch a live-action series on Gaiman’s highly popular comic-book series and now that it has arrived, it has started to create records as well. The first season of the Netflix fantasy series has dethroned ‘Virgin River’ to claim the numero uno position on the streaming platform’s Top 10 list. The series came in as the most-streamed series from the week of August 1st through August 7th. The series made its debut on Friday, August 5, and was streamed for a total of 69.48 million hours worldwide.
