Who is The Prodigal?
During the entire show, there were various mentions of the character 'The Prodigal' and if he has returned. Wondering who the Prodigal is and his relations with the Endless family? Don't worry I have got you covered.
The series has only revealed the first four, which include Dream (played by Tom Sturridge), Desire (Mason Alexander Park), Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste), and lastly, Despair (Donna Preston). The remaining ones are Destiny, Delirium, and Destruction (aka The Prodigal) out of the seven siblings. It is said that they are the children of Time and Night, created to serve the natural world as shown in the Netflix series.
Out of the seven siblings Destruction is known to be the Prodigal because he left his duties to serve the world and not destroy it anymore. According to the comics, the character is described as a big man with red hair and sometime in the 1700s. Destruction had decided that he had enough of being the entity of destruction, and he wanted to go do something else than destroy. Each of the Endless has a realm in which they are absolutely sovereign.
Considering how numerous times Destruction was mentioned in the series, it can be only assumed that maybe fans can expect him to make an appearance when the threat of war from Lucifer comes knocking at the Dreaming door and the mortal world. We might see the Endless siblings unity for the cause since they exist because of the humans.
