'Virgin River' is one of the few Netflix shows that have been getting quick and regular renewal orders. Fans can heave a sigh of relief as Season 4 filming will begin end of July 2021 and carry through to November. However, nothing is set in stone and subject to change.

If you are a sucker for romance-drama, here's a list of shows you can binge on the side: 'Sweet Magnolias', 'Cable Girls', 'Dash & Lily', and 'Firefly Lane'.

Release date and how to watch

'Virgin River' Season 4 release date has not been confirmed yet. Since it's in pre-production, by the time the creators wrap up filming and add finishing touches, it will be mid-2022. Meanwhile, the first three season are available for streaming on Netflix.

Plot

The next season will build on Season 3. Talking to the US Weekly, showrunner Sue Tenney said: "There will be an arrest at the end of season 3 — but everything is not the way it looks. The story is not over with the arrest." This is a solid if not definite hint to 'Virgin River' being renewed for another season. Tenney also teases the fate of Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) and Mel Monroe's (Alexandra Breckenridge) relationship and how the couple will be tested in every possible way.

"In season 3, at the end, they’re going to face an obstacle that could possibly change everything for them," the producer added. "I think that overall in season 3, it’s like they’re forced to contemplate whether their present relationship is strong enough to survive the past."

Cast

'Virgin River' Season 4 should have the original cast returning to reprise their roles once again. From Jack and Mel to others like Doc (Tim Matheson), Hope (Annette O’Toole), Preacher (Colin Lawrence), Ricky (Grayson Gurnsey), Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley), Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale), Joey (Jenny Cooper), Christopher (Chase Petriw), and Mike (Marco Grazzini) will be back. However, the rest of the roster could change a bit given how Season 3 ends.

Showrunners

Tenney aside, Christopher E Perry, Jocelyn Freid, Robyn Carr, and Roma Roth will be serving as executive producers.
