Although guessing which celebrity is hiding underneath the mask is one of the key elements of 'The Masked Singer', one can't deny that at the end of the day it is also a singing competition show. So when Toni Braxton, the woman who defined the 90s sound and seven-time Grammy winner was eliminated by the audience on the second episode of 'The Masked Singer' Season 6, fans were left fuming.

On Fox's wildly popular celebrity talent show 'The Masked Singer' the audience have all the power. After watching all the performances on the show, they get to eliminate one of the performers they felt was underwhelming. After eliminating Dwight Howard who was underneath the octopus costume and Vivica A Fox hiding underneath the Mother Nature costume on the premiere episode, the audience decided to vote out the Pufferfish. For her opening performance, Pufferfish gave a captivating performance to Doja Cat's 'Say So', and went with Dua Lipa's 'Levitating' for her second performance. The petite performer impressed the judges and the fans with her amazing ability to dabble between both singing Dua's lines and rapping Da Baby's verses from the hit track. Unfortunately, the audience wasn't impressed enough and voted her out.

After being voted out, the unmasking takes place when everybody gets to see which celebrity was underneath the costume. In this case, it was none other than the Toni Braxton. Before the unmasking, Nick Cannon declared that everybody would be very upset and disappointed after seeing the celebrity under the Pufferfish costume and he was indeed right. While the judges were starstruck and tongue-tied on seeing the legendary musician on the stage, fans were seething with rage at the audience for eliminating the iconic singer at such an early stage on the show over other performers.

A fan tweeted, "I know good and damn well you all did it eliminate a woman whose sound defined the 90s all of y’all can go eat it! Cause she slayed!! The shock on their faces as Toni revealed herself! #TheMaskedSinger." Another fan wrote, "I guess Toni Braxton got voted off because she was too good. Otherwise, I don't understand." "What could make me just as mad as Gronk outlasting Chaka and Dionne on #TheMaskedSinger? @tonibraxton losing to a talentless Baby (mask of course just to be clear) also props to you Toni for singing with a mask on and disguising her voice the whole time you still got it," commented an unhappy fan.

Fans also began demanding for taking away the power of elimination from the audience. A fan shared, "Oh they just messed up and sent Toni Braxton home! They need to take the decision away from the audience. Just like Tyrese last season. #themaskedsinger." "I knew it was Toni Braxton #TheMaskedSinger that audience suck for not giving the pufferfish more votes," seconded a fan. Another fan added, "@MaskedSingerFOX y’all going to need to start letting people at home vote cause the audience don’t know crap. Cause that was not it. Lil Wayne now Toni Braxton #TheMaskedSinger."
