'The Masked Singer' Spoilers: Pufferfish is Toni Braxton, here are clues you missed

The judges may have failed to guess it was Toni but many fans immediately recognized that the iconic singer's distinct voice

It was all fun and games until it was time for the judges on 'The Masked Singer' to guess who could possibly be hiding under the cute and petite Pufferfish costume. This cute little masked celebrity made quite an impression on the Season 6 premiere episode when she performed 'Say So' by Doja Cat.

The Pufferfish's impeccable rapping skills during her second performance to Dua Lipa's 'Levitating' and dance moves certainly threw off all the four judges, who weren't even remotely close to guessing that it was seven-time Grammys winner- The Toni Braxton. Robin Thicke was convinced that Jessica Alba was underneath the costume as the performer certainly put on quite a show with her dance and singing. Nicole Scherzinger initially leaned towards Jennifer Lopez but after the school night episode, she changed her guess to Nelly Furtado. Jenny McCarthy and Ken Jeong felt that it was Zoe Saldana or Issa Rae underneath the mask.

So when Pufferfish was voted out from the show by the audience it was time for unmasking and needless to say the judges had to pick their jaws off the floor after seeing Toni's face. Toni, who is a lupus warrior wore a face mask underneath her costume during both her performances on the show, this helped her with disguising her voice a little which threw off the judges from guessing that it was Toni. The judges may have failed to guess it was Toni but many fans immediately recognized that the iconic singer was underneath the mask thanks to her distinct voice.

A fan tweeted, "THIS HOW YOU KNOWWWWW these judges not fans of REAL MUSIC BC WTF HOW DONT U KNOW THATS TONI BRAXTON?? But y’all gonna guess her on Faith Evans #TheMaskedSinger." Another fan wrote, "The rap part gave Toni away the most! @tonibraxton you can’t hide that tone and the way you manipulate that air between breaths girl #themaskedsinger #season6." "#TheMaskedSinger I listen to Toni Braxton every day and she has a one-of-a-kind of voice that would be recognizable by me. The mask helped her change her voice that I had no idea it was her. Awesome job. Oh, and I had 2 others leaving tonight and it wasn't U," added a fan. "Chile, I don't even know why Toni THEE Braxton would even come on #themaskedsinger dressed like a Puffer Fish thinking we weren't going to immediately recognize that tone and sensuality," expressed a fan.

Clues for Pufferfish 

Despite her best attempts, Toni's distinct voice could not be disguised much under the two masks she was wearing. All the clues that were revealed too hinted at the seven-time Grammy recipient hiding underneath the mask. The cardinal that was shown in her clue package was referencing to her romance with rapper Birdman. The scales were a hint at Toni's album and astrological sign Libra. The word Guitarra that made a brief appearance on her clues is a clue to her hit song 'Spanish Guitar'. Finally, the glitterball was a nod to her performance on Season 7 of 'Dancing With the Stars'. 

Like Nick Cannon declared Toni's elimination and unmasking is indeed the biggest upset of the season.
