How to watch 'The Masked Singer'

Plot
Based on the South Korean show 'King of Mask Singer,' 'The Masked Singer' features 12 celebrities, dressed in over-the-top costumes that hide their identity. They then perform for a panel of judges and the audience, who have to guess their identity. Before the performance, the judges and the audience are thrown a lifeline, seen that they're given a clue package with a hint that regarding the performer's true identity. The judges and the panel then vote for the performers, based on their performances. The performer with the lowest vote gets eliminated, but not before they reveal their identity.
For season 6, the show's format has undergone some major changes. The contestants will be divided into two groups- Group A and Group B. The contestants will then compete within their own groups to pick a winner. The winner from each group will have a final face off in the grand finale. “It’s almost like we have three finales in our show,” executive producer Craig Plestis told EW. “We have a winner from Group A and Group B, and they’ll then be going head-to-head, almost like a prizefight, to see who is the Masked Singer. But the great thing is, they’ll be taking on each other, and they’ve never sat on the same stage together until that moment.”

Spoilers
The Take It Off Buzzer feature will shake things up. Ahead of the show's premiere, the producers explained about the new change to the show's format. If a judge is certain they know who’s behind a mask, they can hit the buzzer at any time and announce their guess. If they’re right, the contestant has to unmask immediately and will get eliminated from the competition. The panelist also earns two points toward winning the Golden Ear Trophy at the end of the season. However, if the panelist’s buzzer guess is wrong, the contestant stays masked and the judge who guessed loses two points from their Golden Ear tally. There’s also a catch: The buzzer can only be used once for Group A and once for Group B, meaning that every panelist won’t get to use it.
Cast
Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke will be returning to the judges' panel. Nick Cannon too will return to resume his role as the host of the show, seeing that he was absent last season on account of contracting Covid-19. He was replaced by comedian Niecy Nash. Aside from the judges panel, there will be sixteen contestants competing on the show.
Creators
'The Masked Singer' is produced by Fox Alternative Entertainment. Craig Plestis, James Breen, Rosie Seitchik, and Nick Cannon serve as executive producers.
