Is 'The Batman 2' release date delayed? No Comic-Con news has fans speculating if it will take '5 years'
Warner Bros panel in Hall H at SDCC 2022 garnered quite the buzz with updates for their next big release, 'Shazam! Fury of the Gods' and 'Black Adam'. However, the lack of updates on Robert Pattinson's 'The Batman' sequel, unofficially called 'Batman 2' left fans unhappy. It was a damp squib when Henry Cavill was a no-show to talk about his future as DC's Man of Steel. It was further a major bummer that there was zero information regarding the sequel to Matt Reeves's critically-acclaimed film.
The last update was during the CinemaCon when Warner Bros. Pictures boss Toby Emmerich confirmed the sequel. "Matt Reeves took one of our most iconic and beloved superheroes and delivered a fresh vision that clearly resonated with audiences and with your incredible support, shattered box office records around the world, which is one of the reasons I'm excited to break the news that Matt, Rob Pattinson, and the whole team will be taking audiences back to Gotham with The Batman 2." And with that buzz of the next Batman movie taking five years did the rounds on Twitter. At the time of writing, there has been no official update about when the movie goes on the floor for production.

"Dc better announce release date for the Batman 2 & joker 2 in dcfandome marvel kicked their ass, two avengers movies in one year," one of the fans opined. "Why is everyone saying The Batman 2 is coming out in 2026 y’all better not be serious," another remarked. "Life has no meaning now that I know it’ll take five years for the batman 2. Five years… without any meaning or joy" a fan tweeted. "DC should’ve done more this year, like announce The Batman 2, the new Justice League movie, and bring back Henry Cavill as Superman and make a Man of Steel 2. DC needs to get back on their feet to compete with Marvel," a comment read.
"DC needs to announce Fandome this year, and have more confidence in their films. Imagine considering this was the first Shazam trailer and teaser for Black Adam. We gonna have to be getting 2nd or final trailers for both. Makes sense to be at Fandome and announce The Batman 2," one of the fans exclaimed. "No, The Batman 2 is not going to take 5 years. Dylan Clark (co producer with Matt Reeves) was asked when the sequel would come out, because the first movie took almost 5 years (covid delays) he jokingly said less than 5 years this time," a fan argued.
"It is extremely likely that The Batman 2 releases around one of the two Avengers movies in 2025 and that sounds like an unbelievable amount of chaos." Some were just happy with all the superhero content coming their way. "For the first time in years, I am more hyped for the MCU films that are coming out than I am for the DCEU. On a year where THE BATMAN 2, JOKER 2, or Henry Cavill SUPERMAN solo film are announced/presented, then maybe my answer would differ."
