San Diego Comic-Con is always full of surprises and this year it’s no different. Actor Keanu Reeves appeared at this year’s event to talk about his Boom! Studios title ‘BRZRKR’, and fans were left disappointed when nothing about ‘John Wick’ was discussed with the actor. However, Reeves knew what he had to do to excite his fan base and surprised the crowd by giving a fresh look at the beloved action hero at this year’s event.

After appearing at a Comic-Con panel for the aforementioned title, the actor crashed Collider’s Directors on Directing panel in Hall H on Friday night, where Chad Stahelski, director of ‘John Wick 4’, was sitting to have a discussion on the art of directing, to debut the new teaser trailer for the upcoming movie. The teaser starts with John Wick training for what seems to be a new threat to his existence and beating up a wide range of bad guys.

The protagonist seems to be in France this time around as one of the shots sees Wick walking in front of the great Eiffel Tower. Additionally, the film has been shot in places such as Jordan, Berlin, Japan, and the US. In the trailer, one of the antagonists requests Wick to stop fighting because “not anyone, not even you (Wick) can kill everyone.” The clip moves forward with a montage of Wick fighting with bad guys and also features a few shots of sword fighting between Wick and one of the assassins played by the legendary actor Donnie Yen. The teaser also pits Wick against Bill Skarsgard’s undisclosed character.

The entire Comic-Con audience went berserk after the footage was unveiled at the event and the social media also didn’t hold back in sharing their thoughts on the new teaser trailer. Like always, the clip was loaded with action sequences and made fans excited for the upcoming movie.

‘John Wick’ has been one of the finest action movie franchises in recent times and began in 2014. Since then, three films have been released in the series and each of them received universal acclaim. With a production budget of almost $145 million, all three movies have gone on to earn more than $587 million cumulatively.

It’s been more than three years since the third part, titled ‘John Wick: Parabellum’, arrived in theatres and set the box office on fire. The movie was slated to release in 2022, but there have been a number of delays in production and the movie was pushed back to 2023.

Apart from Yen and Skarsgard, other actors to join Reeves in the franchise’s newest film include Laurence Fishburne, Lance Reddick, Rina Sawayama, Shamier Anderson, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, and Clancy Brown.

‘John Wick 4’ is slated to release in theatres on March 24, 2023.
