'The Bachelor' 2023: Drama soars as Zach Shallcross sends major connection home during week 3 rose ceremony
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The stakes are rising during week three of 'The Bachelor,' as Zach Shallcross attempts to strengthen his bonds with the remaining 17 ladies. In an unexpected turn of events, he even sent one of his early front-runners home when she became entangled in some controversy with her rivals.
'The Bachelor' Season 27 has been a bit of a bore so far, but things stepped up in Episode 3 with two intimate one-on-one dates, a very large group date, a pool party, a rose ceremony, and a dramatic self-elimination. Zach made plans to spend quality time with each of his 17 remaining ladies after consulting with former 'Bachelor' star Sean Lowe. In classic Zach form, he started Week 3 with an exclusive Night Date, which may or may not have morphed into an early fantasy suite date. Do you want to know who got the roses at the rose ceremony? And who returned home? We've got your back.

Who got Zach Shallcross' roses in Week 3?
The first date card went to Kaitlyn (aka Kaity) Biggar, a 27-year-old ER nurse from Austin, Texas. The two kissed, talked about their desire for a life partner who is also a best friend, and Zach gave Kaity the date rose.
With a date card that stated, "There are no rules in the game of love," Zach invited Mercedes, Ariel, Anastasia, Kylee, Bailey, Christina, Brooklyn, Genevie, Jess, Brianna, Davia, Katherine, Charity, Gabi, and Greer on a huge group date. The Blue Team triumphed after much blood, sweat, a pair of pee-soaked pants, and a broken nail. They popped champagne, kissed the Yellow Team farewell, and went to the afterparty for drinks, talk with Zach, and some unexpected drama. Zach offered Charity the rose at the conclusion of the date, and she accepted.
Aly Jacobs, a 26-year-old healthcare strategist from Atlanta, Georgia, received the second one-on-one date in Episode 3. They kissed, danced, and had a mini-concert. Aly didn't stay the entire night with Zach, but she did leave with a rose.
When Zach entered the rose ceremony, he informed the women he was "struggling" and "feeling sick to his stomach" because of his perplexity and difficult decisions. During the Rose Ceremony, he gave roses to Mercedes, Ariel, Anastasia, Kylee, Brooklyn, Genevie, Jess, Davia, Katherine, Charity, Gabi, and Greer.
Who did Zach Shallcross send home during Week 3?
Shallcross only sent one participant home after the rose ceremony in Episode 3: Christina. However, Christina, Bailey, and Brianna were all evicted from The Bachelor Season 27, Episode 3.
Bailey visits Zach to express her concerns about their relationship following the Group Date, especially because she hasn't had much opportunity to chat with him. In the middle of their chat, Ariel interrupts and requests time with Zach, which naturally generates some tension. Bailey eventually swoops him back to continue the talk. Zach informs Bailey that he isn't sure they have a future together, which leaves Bailey distraught. She departs before the group date rose is handed.
Brianna tells Brooklyn that she is still unsure about her connection with Zach. She approaches him to discuss it, and he reiterates that their relationship does not feel natural. She tells him she's been preparing to leave since she's been having problems with him and some of the other ladies in the home. Since she's already on her way out, she informs Zach that Christina has made Brianna and Charity weep and has intimidated several of the other ladies. Brianna was gone with that bombshell.
Christina was the only one sent home at the end of this episode because two women were sent home prior to the rose ceremony.
'Zach’s season is built different'
After such chaos, fans say, "I'm just impressed we still got a rose ceremony to end the episode." Reading the tension in the room, fans felt, "At the rose ceremony Zach was definitely looking down at notes or a script something. It was awkward." One concerned fan also wrote, "Am I the only one that thinks Christina looked like she was drunk or on drugs at the rose ceremony?" However, one fan who is impressed with this season also tweeted, "Having a full rose ceremony in week 3 to send one girl home. Zach’s season is built different."
