MEDELLIN. COLOMBIA: Kim Zolciak has recently made her MTV debut with 'Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets'. She found a group of new friends with whom she could open up her vulnerable sides. However, Kim reflected on her parents' lack of support amid her messy divorce with Kroy Biermann.
In the premiere episode of the MTV show, Kim broke down in tears over her sabotaged marriage during a breathing exercise and therapy session. She insisted, "As I'm breathing, I'm just crying and crying and crying, and I need this. I really do," adding, "I'm a f*****g basket case."
The former Bravo reality star tearfully admitted that her messy divorce experience made her reevaluate her role as a mother, especially after becoming estranged from her own parents. The therapy session helped her realize she was lacking the support she needed during this difficult time.
Kim confessed, "I protect everybody else and I don't feel like anybody's really protecting me, from my parents to my husband." Kim parted ways from Kroy in May after 12 years of marriage. The duo shared six children, Brielle, 27, Ariana, 22, KJ, 13, Kash, 11, and 10-year-old twins Kaia and Kane.

She shared in the confessional, "I don't know how to let go and then especially be that vulnerable in front of seven, I say strangers, but I feel safer with them than I do if I was to do that with Kroy. That's sad." Kim then told her costars, "The fact that I can let go here and feel safe here, not even at home, is just crazy. You know, I've been a mom since 18, so you gotta stay strong."
