The movie went on to become a gigantic success when it was released and earned more than $500 million globally. It received worldwide acclaim from critics as well as audiences and became one of the most well-received movies of all time. ‘Gladiator’ was nominated for 12 Academy Awards, winning five of those, including Best Picture. Russell Crowe won Best Actor for his epic portrayal of Maximus which made him a superstar.

‘Gladiator’ sequel is scheduled to hit theatres on Wednesday, November 22, 2024.
