Pascal has been a force to be reckoned with since his appearance on ‘Game of Thrones’. The actor played the role of Oberyn Martell in the series and instantly became a fan favorite. Making a sequel to a film like ‘Gladiator’ is not an easy task because of the legacy that the original movie possesses. The upcoming movie is a follow-up to the 2001 film that primarily focused on Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russell Crowe), a former General who has been sold into slavery and forced to fight as a gladiator under the rule of Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix).

The movie went on to become a gigantic success when it was released and earned more than $500 million globally. It received worldwide acclaim from critics as well as audiences and became one of the most well-received movies of all time. ‘Gladiator’ was nominated for 12 Academy Awards, winning five of those, including Best Picture. Russell Crowe won Best Actor for his epic portrayal of Maximus which made him a superstar.

‘Gladiator’ sequel is scheduled to hit theatres on Wednesday, November 22, 2024.
