'Squid Game' star HoYeon Jung joins the cast of upcoming Korean thriller 'Hope'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: HoYeon Jung, known for her role in Netflix's global blockbuster 'Squid Game', is joining the cast of 'Hope'. The upcoming Korean film is a thriller directed by Na Hong-jin.
Na Hong-jin is known for his work as a screenwriter and director in films such as 'The Chaser' and 'The Wailing'. It has already been confirmed that Oscar winner Alicia Vikander and Oscar nominee Michael Fassbender will be playing crucial roles in the upcoming film.

HoYeon Jung joins 'Hope' cast
Emmy-nominated Korean actress and model HoYeon will play a prominent role in 'Hope', Deadline reports. Before she got into acting, HoYeon was a successful model and the runner-up in the fourth season of Korea's 'Next Top Model'. She also became the global ambassador of Louis Vuitton in 2021. While more focused on modeling, HoYeon Jung scored a breakthrough in her debut appearance in Netflix's 'Squid Game'. Her performance as Kang Sae-byeok stole the hearts of viewers around the world and even earned her a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. HoYeon also appeared in the Weeknd music video 'Out of Time' in 2022.
HoYeon now has a wonderful lineup ahead of her that includes her feature film debut in the A24 movie directed by Joe Talbot, named 'The Governesses', and Cate Blanchett's thriller series 'Disclaimer', directed by Alfonso Cuarón.
'Hope'
Speaking about HoYeon's role in 'Hope', director Na previously mentioned that her bright and bold energy is everything he envisioned for the character.
It has been reported the upcoming movie is set to follow the story of the residents of Hopo Port. On the outskirts of the remote harbor town, a mysterious discovery is made that throws its residents into survival mode, with each of them finding themselves in a battle against something they have never encountered before.
It has also been confirmed that 'Hope' will have cinematography by Hong Kyung-pyo, who is known for his work in 'Parasite'. 'Hope' is produced under Na’s production banner Forged Films.
