Fans first took notice of her health and shared their concern when they saw the actress’ photos from a recent event. She attended the 2021 LACMA Art & Film Gala in Los Angeles on November 6. The photos made fans and social media users really worried, making them think that she might be going through some problems related to her health.

The ‘Squid Game’ star has finally broken her silence on the matter and admitted that she did lose a considerable amount of weight due to one striking reason. So, what happened? Let’s take a look at what the Korean superstar said.

Hectic ‘Squid Game’ promotional stuff made her life stressful

In a recent interview with Star News, the ‘Squid Game’ actress revealed that the schedule for the Netflix show’s promotional events was so hectic that she “didn’t get the time to eat” anything. As translated by allkpop, Jung explained that she lost so much of weight that all the clothes that she brought to America became really loose when the promotions ended.

“So, I lost way too much weight. All the clothes that used to fit me when I first came here [to America] are too loose now,” Jung explained.

This is not the first Jung has come forward to talk about the stress she went through when the show became a global success. Earlier this month, while talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Jung said that she was “losing herself” in the midst of all the success that the show garnered. She added, “I lost 6 pounds in a week when it became successful. I couldn’t eat – it wasn’t stress, I just didn’t know this feeling. ‘What’s going on out there, who am I?’ I was kind of losing myself.”

Why were fans concerned?

The entire episode started when the star uploaded a photo from the LACMA Art & Film Gala on Instagram. In the photo, she was seen making a generic pose while wearing a stunning black outfit. Although most of the people commented how gorgeous she looked, there were a lot of fans who got worried about her health because of how thin she was looking.

Fans started writing comments like “Please Eat” and “Take care of your health” on Instagram. With everything that Jung has said in the interview, it seems that overnight success can be cruel sometimes. Fans hope that Jung returns to her normal health soon because they want to see her doing more ground-breaking roles in the future.
