Looks like Jung HoYeon is getting into acting full-time after her successful debut in ‘Squid Game’. On November 17, it was reported that the model had signed an exclusive contract for her global acting projects with CAA aka Creative Artists Agency. The international model first went viral for her iconic red hair at New York Fashion Week and then went on to model and walk for several luxury houses. At the time, she signed a modeling contract with the global modeling agency, Elite Model Management. While she has appeared in two music videos, ‘Squid Game’ was her first acting project, which has now led to a career in Hollywood.

HoYeon first signed with the South Korean acting agency Saram Entertainment in 2020. The label houses several international, as well as K-drama actors like Ki Hong Lee of ‘The Maze Runner’ series, Honey Lee, idol Uhm Junghwa and Park Gyu-young of ‘Dali and Cocky Prince’ fame. HoYeon went on to have her acting debut as one of the lead roles in the Netflix original K-drama ‘Squid Game,’ which became a smashing hit overnight. It became the most-watched Netflix show, got a Golden Globe nomination and is eligible for an Emmy.

HoYeon signs with CAA

HoYeon seems to be doing very well in every field she gets into. She was a much sought-after model before ‘Squid Game’s release, having worked with the likes of Chanel and Gucci. She also appeared on the covers of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar and is a global ambassador of Louis Vuitton. Similarly, her acting career is already taking off despite having only one acting credit to her name after being cast in 'Squid Game'. While Saram Entertainment will be managing her K-drama projects, her Hollywood career will be managed by Creative Artists Agency. The label is home to the likes of Zendaya and Harry Styles.

HoYeon proved her mettle as an actress with her role as a North Korean defector in ‘Squid Game’. With the Netflix drama also being renewed for season 2, the people involved in the project have become highly popular worldwide. This is just one element among the many that has led to the global Hallyu Wave and increased South Korea’s cultural impact all over the world. Creative Artists Agency is also working with popular K-pop groups NCT 127 and SuperM and partnering with K-pop company SM Entertainment. GOT7’s Mark Tuan became the first K-pop idol to sign with them followed by aespa who became the first K-pop girl group under CAA.

‘Make it happen Hollywood’

Fans are excited for HoYeon as one tweeted, “A HoYeon Jung casting in Spider-Man would be sick make it happen Hollywood.” Another fan shared, “Hoyeon goes to hollywood.” We also had fans of multiple fandoms making posts like, “Okay CAA listen, we need a JUNG HOYEON AND MARK TUAN PHOTOSHOOT,” and “CAA has hoyeon and aespa i'm taking this as crumbs.”
