Red Velvet is one of the most popular girl groups in and out of South Korea. However, fans themselves seem to forget that due to the constant drought. Citing mistreatment, Reveluvs (Red Velvet's fandom) have often blamed SM for not giving the K-pop group enough comebacks. In fact, it took them two years to get an album release. No one knew that we would be getting an undecided hiatus when Red Velvet disappeared after the iconic ‘Psycho’ in December 2019. Unfortunately, their next release, the fun and cheery ‘Queendom’ happened almost two years later in August 2021.

While the comeback was popular and successful, they got the bare minimum in terms of promotions. But Red Velvet continued to prove their impact by winning on seven music shows right till September despite ending promotions in a few weeks. They constantly topped charts like Gaon, MelOn and iTunes and won at award shows like Gaon Music Awards. This is why angry fans decided to create a petition to ask their label SM Entertainment to give Red Velvet more comebacks and better promotions. And whether the label heard them or not, we are finally getting a March comeback.

Red Velvet to make March comeback

On February 18, a news report claimed that they had exclusive information that Red Velvet was working on their next album and would be having a comeback in March. Following its circulation, SM decided to speak up. The K-pop label shared, “Red Velvet is preparing a new album with the goal of releasing it in March.” If they do release the album in March, it will be the girl group’s first comeback in seven months which fans feel is much better than the two-year break they had to suffer through previously.

One fan posted, “Rv march comeback?? That's so fast!! 😭💗I thought we need to wait for at least 1 or 2 years hshshs.” Another Reveluv shared, “Red velvet having a comeback 7 months since queendom just shows how sm finally witnessed their growth on popularity and sales.” One fan added, “NEW RED VELVET MUSIC NEXT MONTH IM GONNA CRY WE ONLY HAD TO WAIT 7 MONTHS THIS TIME.” Another Reveluv commented, “Glad to know red velvet is real and not just a fragment of my imagination.” One fan said, “Red velvet is actually very popular in & out of their home country i almost forgot because of the drought.”

'It's finally time'

Fans just hope that the March comeback doesn’t get zero promotions like Red Velvet’s upcoming Japanese studio album ‘Bloom’ which many didn’t even know about till February 18 when news of the Korean comeback went viral. One Reveluv tweeted, “If sm gives this comeback the Bloom treatment, we’ll have REAL problems.” Another fan joked, “Boop boop bloom c u sometime RED VELVET MARCH COMEBACK.” Fans also made reaction memes.

Excited fans also made posts like, “MAKE WAY FOR THE QUEENS,” “I guess it's finally time,” and “Red velvet MARCH comeback. they did this for ME.” Reveluvs also hoped that we would get a tour announcement too, “Full album + world tour looks so good together what do you think red velvet,” and “I know that Red Velvet concert/tour announcement ain’t that far away.” Another fan asked, “New era, are you ready for this?”
