While it is not odd for K-pop groups to have three to four comebacks in a year, it is definitely a strange sight for Red Velvet fans nowadays. Till 2019, we would get multiple comebacks in a year, but after that, the girl group went on an unofficial hiatus of sorts for almost 2 years. They had one comeback in 2021 with their sixth K-pop EP ‘Queendom’. However, the promotional period ended way too quickly and the girls disappeared once more.

Angry fans slammed their K-pop label, SM Entertainment going as far as to create a petition addressing the absence of Red Velvet. But it looks like things are finally changing. Reveluvs (Red Velvet’s fandom) only had to wait for seven months after ‘Queendom’ to get the next album ‘The ReVe Festival 2022 - Feel My Rhythm’. It topped several charts like Bugs and iTunes. It also became their best seller as the album got 516k pre-orders and over 300k actual sales in over 24 hours of its release. And it looks like we will be getting more of Red Velvet this year.

Joy gives a spoiler

During the press conference for ‘The ReVe Festival 2022 - Feel My Rhythm’, Red Velvet spoke about their classical concept, getting a fresh start and dominating the current season by being seen as the “Spring Queens.” Wendy explained how the album encompassed spring with the help of the tracks, the concept images and the music video. But it was Joy, whose words piqued everyone’s interest. She said, “I hope to see Red Velvet as the queens of all seasons as there will be many comebacks this year.”

Fans think this is a spoiler as it could mean we could also get an album for summer, autumn and winter. If this is true, Red Velvet will have had a total of four comebacks in 2022 alone. The maximum number of comebacks that Red Velvet has had in the past is three as seen in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

‘We won’

One excited fan said, “Many comebacks I'M SO READY YESSSS.” Another Reveluv tweeted, “MANY COMEBACKS LETS GOOOOO 2022 IS RED VELVETS YEAR.” One fan joked, “Joy I'm trusting you.” Another posted, “Documented, sealed, framed, noted 📝 we’re watching you sm.” One Reveluv added, “THE GOOD DAYS SZA HAS BEEN TALKING ABOUT.” Another commented, “AFTER 2 YEARS OF BEING IN HELL WE ARE BACK TO MULTIPLE CBS A YEAR Y’ALL WE WON.” One fan flexed, “Saved music industry-.” Another said, “BYEBYE DROUGHT.” One Reveluv added, “Rv 4 times cb this year? if thats true u people will not hear the end from me u should mute me.”
