'Queendom 2': Airdate, how to watch, host and about Road to Kingdom's female version

Mnet's survival show lineup consists of Brave Girls, Viviz, Loona, Kep1er and more

While viewers love the usual K-pop survival shows as they get to know the members before they debut in a group, the ‘Queendom’/’Kingdom’ series always turn heads. While most survival shows cast trainees to decide the lineup of a new group, the ‘Queendom’/’Kingdom’ survival series casts already popular or underrated K-pop acts as participants. Organized by Mnet, we first had ‘Queendom’ in 2019 where they roped in iconic female artists like Mamamoo, 2NE1’s Park Bom, AOA, Lovelyz, Oh My Girl and (G)I-DLE. And now we are getting a sequel.

‘Queendom’ was followed by ‘Road to Kingdom’ in 2020 which had cast boy groups who had yet to get their first music show win. We got popular groups like The Boyz, Pentagon, Golden Child and underrated groups like ONF, Verivery, ONEUS and TO1. The 2020 edition was followed by the most explosive season yet in 2021 – ‘Kingdom: Legendary War’. The participants were trending boy groups like Stray Kids, BTOB, iKON, SF9, The Boyz and Ateez.

‘Queendom 2’

Well, with the immense success of ‘Kingdom: Legendary War’, we are getting another season. This time, following the theme of ‘Road to Kingdom’, it looks like ‘Queendom 2’ will be looking for underrated girl groups as Mnet allegedly cited in a leaked sales guide that they wanted to cast the likes of Dreamcatcher, Weki Meki and Loona. Fans are looking forward to seeing their favorites participating in the upcoming survival show since millions of viewers tune in which allows such underrated groups to finally get the recognition they deserve.

Airdate and time

Mnet’s ‘Queendom 2’ will air its first episode on March 31 at 9:20 pm KST (March 30 at 7:20 pm ET). It will air every week for 10 weeks.

Where to watch

Like the previous three editions of the survival show series, ‘Queendom 2’ will be broadcast on Mnet’s channel and live-streamed online on Mnet’s YouTube channel with English subtitles. It will also be available on the TVING app.

Host

The ‘Queendom’/’Kingdom’ series always casts popular Korean celebrities to host their survival shows. K-drama actress Lee Da-hee and TV personality Jang Sung-kyu were the MCs for ‘Queendom’ and ‘Road to Kingdom’. For ‘Kingdom: Legendary War’, we had ‘idol of idols’ TVXQ’s Changmin and Yunho. Well, for ‘Queendom 2’, the MC is none other than Girls’ Generation’s leader Taeyeon.

Lineup

Korean media outlets reported that Mnet is discussing with VIVIZ, ITZY, Brave Girls, and Kep1er to which the channel shared that nothing has been confirmed yet.

Fans, on the other hand, are excited and are predicting their own lineup. One WJSN fan guessed, “We all want wjsn to join queendom so they can show their talent and how good their songs are,, many people get intimidated knowing there are 10 members but once u get pass that, i assure yall my girlies are a total package yall looking for comedians, and singers too.” Another predicted, “Queendom lineup: WJSN brave girls fromis_9 chungha itzy momoland SOURCE: the voices in my head.” One posted, "Ohh if loona, wjsn or deukae aren’t in the queendom 2 lineup my tl is gonna be on fire."

One fan wished, “I'd like to see globally famous & established GGs some underrated ggs or are only famous in SK. Lowkey hoping Red Velvet, Itzy, AESPA, STAYC or IVE BP is impossible then Brave Girls, WJSN, DIA, Laboum. Want to get to know Loona & DreamCatcher then soloists Chungha, CL or Somi.” Another shared, “My prediction for Queendom 2's line-up. WJSN, Brave Girls, Fromis_9, Weki Meki, Dreamcatcher and LOONA. Give these talented women to show their talents!” One joked, "What if mnet hasnt released the Queendom 2 line up bc they seen our tweets abt dreamcatcher and wjsn, and neither of them are in the line up :| LMAO."
