LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Netflix’s love affair with documentaries continues as the streaming giant turns its spotlights to the world of celebrities from the United Kingdom. Known for making varied documentaries, Netflix wants to up the ante with a fresh take on the biggest faces from the United Kingdom. The cameras will roll once again giving the fans a fresh peek into the lives of their favorite stars. 

The streaming behemoth has a diversified platter of celebrities for the documentaries. A footballing star, a singer, a boxing heavyweight champion, and the legendary pop group will feature in Netflix's new slate of documentaries this year. With this announcement, Netflix intends to show its adoration and adulation for the stars of the island nation. But who are the headliners? Whose life is Netflix willing to explore at lengths? Who are the four stars to be featured in Netflix documentaries?

Netflix has roped in, David Beckham, one of the world’s greatest football stars. The ex-Real Madrid star has agreed to do a fly-on-the-wall show with Netflix as he decides to look back on his life, from growing up in East London to becoming the most revered footballer on the planet. Victoria Beckham is in talks to appear in the documentary too.

The other British legend that Netflix has managed to document is the singer Robbie Williams who achieved huge commercial success in the '90s. The singer-songwriter will have his life’s biggest moments documented, ranging from his breakups to reunions and his torrid affairs with the media. Robbie’s documentary will also feature 25 years' worth of intimate and never-before-seen moments of his life. 

The third celebrity is the former boxing heavyweight champion Tyson Fury who has been given exclusive access to Netflix and will have the cameras around him as he discusses the time when he left the ring and embraced a life of retirement with his family. The show which is titled ‘At Home with the Furys’ will also include his wife Paris, his six children, and his father John.

The late George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley, the co-founders of the great pop group ‘Wham!’, will also feature in an exclusive documentary on their lives.



 

When will Netflix release the documentaries?

The release dates are still kept under wraps for all the documentaries, but they are expected to come out in 2023. The vice president of content at Netflix recently mentioned that the streaming giant is "deeply committed" to bringing out the stories of the UK’s greatest legends. As it turns out, Netflix is standing firm on its commitment.
