NCT Dream first full group concert incomplete AGAIN as Mark tests positive, fans say 'fck Covid'
It seems that OT7 NCT Dream fans just cannot catch a break. While NCT Dream has seven members, two of the members -- Mark and Haechan are in NCT 127 which is why they have to often pick one sub-unit when there are overlapping schedules. Dream fans are often disappointed that SM prioritizes NCT 127’s schedules which leads to only five members mostly participating in NCT Dream group activities. Following an uproar, SM placated fans by revealing NCT Dream's first full group concert with all seven members. Unfortunately, Mark Lee has now ended up getting Covid-19.
While the new Omicron outbreak had wreaked havoc in early 2022 with tons of K-pop idols testing positive every day, South Korea was commended for immediately getting it under control by April. Concerts, matches, cinemas and even world tours resumed. Along with NCT 127 going on their third world tour, SM shared that NCT Dream would be having their first complete group concert. With Mark temporarily leaving the sub-unit in between when they had their first concert, we have never had a full group concert with all seven members of NCT Dream. Fans were excited as the tickets for ‘The Dream Show 2’ was sold out in seconds.

NCT Dream’s Mark gets Covid-19 before first group concert
The website had recorded that 1.5 million people had tried to buy tickets for the 20k-seat concert. The 3-day ‘The Dream Show 2’ concert will begin on July 29. The last day will also be live-streamed for international fans on Beyond LIVE. However, on July 25, it was reported that NCT’s Mark Lee had tested positive for Covid-19. SM shared that the K-pop idol had some symptoms and he had gotten tested which has come back positive. He has taken all three of his vaccines and is quarantined at home. All of his activities have been halted. SM also asked for fans’ understanding who have been waiting for a full group concert which will again be incomplete.
NCT Dream debuted in 2016 after the sub-unit NCT 127. SM had tried to apply the failed rotational concept of Super Junior with NCT Dream members ‘graduating’ and a new member being added. This led to member Mark Lee ‘graduating’ and leaving the group in 2018. However, fans rejected the concept which led to NCT Dream becoming a fixed sub-unit and Mark rejoining the group in 2020.
Unfortunately, the group’s first solo concert ‘The Dream Show’ had been in 2019 with only six members. Since Mark rejoined during the pandemic, the boys had not had a chance to have a full group concert to date. ‘The Dream Show 2’ would have been their first full group concert with all seven members since their debut in 2016.
‘We will wait’
And while fans are disappointed, they are also sending supportive messages to Mark who had shown constant excitement for his first NCT Dream concert. One fan tweeted, “Imagine the whole dreamies were so excited to finally perform as ot7 after xx years :( praying for you safety, mark lee!” Another NCTzen posted, “Bringing back this clip as dreamies shows how much they adore and love Mark Lee. We will wait for you our Leader, Mark Lee but get well soon! GET WELL SOON MARK LEE!!!” One fan shared, “Fck covid you ruined everything i hate u so much.” Another fan added, “Biggest hug to mark lee :(.”
