World tour with all 23 NCT members? K-pop fans ask: 'Wouldn't that be chaotic?'

Sub-unit NCT 127 is already on their third world tour, while NCT Dream is preparing for their first-ever full group solo concert

2022 truly has been the year for world tours as we got more than 30 acts like Monsta X, Ateez, Seventeen, Stray Kids, and more planning and touring continents from North America to Europe and Asia. At the moment, even NCT 127 is on their second world tour ‘Neo City - The Link’ that began in Seoul in December 2021. They held their first Japanese dome tour in May and recently finished their Singapore concert on July 2. And while fans are waiting for the next tour dates to drop for the fixed sub-unit, SM has hinted at a world tour with all 23 members of NCT.

‘Whole NCT’ took over Twitter trends on the early morning of July 6 after a Korean user tweeted a photo of SM Entertainment’s plans for 2022 which reveals a world tour for all of NCT. The user got a hand on the label’s investment points and pitch for 2022 that had been planned in November 2021 that hints at potential projects for their artists like NCT and aespa. Fans feel that the leaked schedule is more or less real since it states that SM will debut a new NCT unit which they confirmed in May with the announcement of NCT Hollywood, NCT Tokyo, and three new rookie members.

SM hints at full NCT world tour

According to the investment sheet, SM plans to debut a new NCT unit in 2022, have offline tours for their artists, continue the world tour for NCT 127, and have an offline concert for aespa depending on their comeback schedule. It also states, “NCT Dream & whole NCT are also open to offline tour.” While NCT has 23 members, they have been divided into fixed sub-units like NCT 127, NCT Dream, and WayV so that each member gets enough time to shine. Since NCT’s debut in 2016, SM has organized only three full group comebacks with all of the members in 2018, 2020, and 2021. 

‘Whole nct would not even fit on the stage’

Having never had a world tour with all of the members, fans are confused and excited at the prospect. Fans have taken to making memes like, “Whole nct tour you know what that means,” “Whole nct ? tour bus finna look like this,” and “WAIT WHOLE NCT ???????”

One NCTzen said, “Rumored whole NCT world tour and imagine they will use stadium with 70k/80k capacity and they will performing boss, 7th sense, baby don't stop, make a wish, all nct u song. The world is healing.” Another tweeted, “Whole nct tour they are really gonna pull this out.”

One fan pitied Mark and Haechan who are in NCT Dream and 127, “Dreamies 3 days concert in gocheok sky dome, 127 new album, 127 world tour, dreamies world tour, whole nct world tour mark and haechan.” Another fan asked, “Wdym the whole nct world tour… wouldn't that be chaotic.”

One added, “If the whole nct will really have an offline concert omg that'll be really interesting lol cuz imagine solo stans, unit stans, ot23 stans, ot22 stans coming together. Like that's gonna be chaotic.. I'm in!  Hihihi.” Another said, “I will not be commenting on whole nct tour or any nct world tours until further notice i’ve clowned publicly too many times before.”

With there being discord in the fandom due to Lucas’ status in the group, one fan joked, “If that whole nct tour is true, that would be so funny cuz imagine you are in the same seat with the person you have a beefed with. Like? you guys are talking without knowing you blocked each other on stan twt.”

Another NCTzen shared, “Whole nct… expect the ticket selling to be a bloodbath cos ain’t NO WAY veteran nctzens giving up those seats over some 2 month old babyzens.” A fan added, “Whole nct would not even fit on the stage.”
