Katy Perry says the show's over after Lucy Love’s stunning act, ‘American Idol’ fans agree with her

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In 'American Idol' March 2 episode, Lucy Love lit up the stage with her stunning rendition of Adele's To 'Make You Feel My Love'. Katy Perry not only took off her jacket as a result of her performance, but she also called off the show, suggesting that nothing could surpass it.

'American Idol' is shaking things up a lot for the Hollywood Week. This season, Katy says it's "time to rewrite the rules." Each contestant gets to pick one area in which they want to see progress. Confidence, songwriting, and stage presence are the divisions. Lucy's stage presence not only made the judges get up from their seats, but also made fans go crazy on social media.

"There's beauty and power in standing still," Jordin Sparks told Lucy Love. She advised her to be emotionally involved in her act and to use her emotions to convey a message. Lucy is going through a divorce and has told Jordin about it. “It feels like somebody died.” When singing an Adele classic, the Idol alum assisted the show's hopeful in finding her stage presence.

After hearing Lucy Love's powerful performance, Katy leaped out of her chair and flung her blazer off. Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie were also unable to remain still, and Katy even informed the other competitors that "the show is over." Before she's even done, the entire audience is on their feet. "That's what we call spectacular," Katy exclaims.

'That was POWERFUL'

Agreeing with Katy, a fan tweeted, "@katyperry telling the other contestants “THE SHOW IS OVER” after Lucy Love performance on @AmericanIdol is exactly what we all was thinking… let’s just wrap this season and fast forward to Jan 2024 IJS." Another praised her, saying, "lucy love had the most amazing performance I’d ever seen, her voice just melted me and her style was so unique - I’d listen to music from her for real." Mirroring Katy's emotions, a fan said, "Throw your shoes, throw your earrings, throw everything at Lucy Love." Fans also think, "Lucy could sing in any genre she wanted to. I'm accidentally watching American Idol, and that was POWERFUL."

One fans went to the extent of sayinh, "Lucy Love is a better singer than any of the three judges. Wow. WOW. That was incredible." Giving her full marks on her stage presence, a fan wrote, "Lucy absolutely killed that performance, she really owned the stage." One fan tweeted, "Lucy Love with a lil hum to start. Love that. She was playing with the intonation and pronunciation of the words, interesting. She is a natural performer, brought some explosive moments. #AmericanIdol #Hollywoodweek Chills!"
