'Put this Fire out already': 'American Idol' fans accuse producers of using stripper mom as 'cliffhanger'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: On the March 2 episode of Hollywood Week, Fire Wilmore, who was forced to audition twice for a place on 'American Idol,' returned. Because her performance was accompanied by a recap of her difficult life as a single stripper mom, fans begin to wonder if the producers simply kept her on the show to play on viewers' psyche.
The 'American Idol' judges fulfilled Fire's dream. Fire tried out for 'American Idol' Season 21 in front of her 4-year-old daughter, but she didn't make the cut. Instead of telling her to return the following year, Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie decided to let Fire attempt again a month later. Fire took her second appearance on 'American Idol' seriously. She practiced her singing every day until her next tryout, which paid off.

Another person quipped, "How bad is the Los Angeles Fire Department? Put this fire out already." Seeing the kind of edit she gets, a fan sighed, "Oh great, let’s waste more time on Fire."
Fans questioning her talent wrote, "I root for Fire..Fyre? So much but she's not quite there :/ God bless her for at least trying though." Calling out the Judges' verdict, a fan joked, "Ok it’s confirmed guys, we can all make it to at least duet rounds!! No f***ing way Fire made it again 😂." One viewer asked, "Is fire related to an idol producer that she’s one of the contestants with the most screen time." Another added, "I don't think Fire is improving. There was something off about her phrasing and where she was breathing. I don't know why the producers are stringing her along like this."
