Will there be a ‘Camp Rock 4’? Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato tease franchise’s future

‘Camp Rock 3' featured a Final Jam that brought the new generation, and now the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato have given an update on the future.

Camp Rock 3’ has revived Disney’s musical series with both familiar faces and a new class of performers. The film, which began streaming on Disney+ on August 14, brings Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers back alongside Liamani Segura, Malachi Barton, Hudson Stone, Lumi Pollack, and Casey Trotter. Its story passes the spotlight to younger campers while still keeping Mitchie Torres and Connect 3 important parts of the film. More importantly, its final moments make the reunion feel like the beginning of a new chapter rather than a one-off comeback.

As of August 14, Disney+ and Disney Channel have not announced ‘Camp Rock 4,’ so the fourth movie is not officially confirmed. However, ‘Camp Rock 3’ ends with its clearest invitation to continue when Mitchie asks Connect 3, “Same time next year?” during the Final Jam. The line stops short of promising another film, but it leaves the door open for Mitchie, Shane, Nate, and Jason to return. It also gives Disney a straightforward route back into the story if the third movie performs strongly.

The third movie lays the groundwork for another installment by introducing campers who can carry the franchise forward. Sage and Fletch emerge as the new lineup’s central pairing, while Desi, Rosie, and Cliff round out a new generation introduced in the film. Mitchie and Connect 3 can continue appearing as mentors while the younger cast takes on the main competition, music, and romance. The closing exchange connects both eras and makes another Final Jam a natural next destination.

Director Veronica Rodriguez has also made it clear that she wants the story to continue, although she has no inside information about Disney’s plans. “For the record, I know nothing,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “[But] I feel like it’s going somewhere. I’m manifesting Camp Rock 4 because I want to be there. Let’s go back to camp! I’m ready.”

The Jonas Brothers also hinted at their openness to returning, with Joe Jonas saying, “We are always down to come back as grandpas. Never say never… I think it’s fun to pop in and out and continue to carry the torch.” Nick Jonas added, “The intention was to not just make one film, walk down memory lane, and look at Camp Rock as a thing from our past that we wanna revive for a new generation. [Rather,] it’s a way to launch global superstars. As we enter this next stage of our life as artists and producers, I think it is important for us to say, ‘How can we pull from things in our past, but use it to [help artists] that we believe can reach the highest level?’ With this third movie, we’re already seeing that that’s absolutely possible and the sky’s the limit”

Demi Lovato also teased the possibility of more, saying, “As for a fourth film, you’ll just have to wait and see!” If Disney does, however, move forward with another film, it will be realistic to expect a 2028 or 2029 premiere, based on the patterns of the ‘Descendants’ and ‘Zombies’ franchises. The studio may first wait to measure the third movie’s streaming and broadcast performance.

Until a renewal arrives, any projected date remains an estimate rather than a production timetable. No cast members are confirmed for ‘Camp Rock 4’ either. Segura, Barton, Stone, Pollack, and Trotter would be the most logical returning young stars because the third film positions their characters as the franchise’s future. Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas have not ruled out appearing again, and Lovato’s final tease keeps speculation alive. For now, all three ‘Camp Rock’ movies are available to stream on Disney+.
