LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Selma Blair is considered one of the strongest contestants on 'Dancing with the Stars' Even after struggling with multiple sclerosis, the 'Cruel Intentions' actress decided to join the dance show and wow everyone with her performances in each episode. Sadly, the star is now stepping down.

Selma announced in 'Dancing with the Stars' Season 31 Episode 6 that she will not be able to continue on the show. The actress explained that dancing could irreparably damage her body. That's why the star self-eliminated in the recently released episode. However, Selma and her partner Sasha Farber jived on one last song before leaving the competition. The couple danced to 'What the World Needs Now is Love.' Their performance moved the live audience, the judges, and also the viewers who watched the live performances on the screen to tears. Derek Hough called Selma a "beacon of light" Len Goodman acknowledged the star for climbing mountains and coming such a long way on the show. Other judges thanked the star for participating in the show and described how her performance was an inspiration to thousands of people.

Since 2018, Selma battled with a chronic disorder causing nerve damage and disruption of communication between the brain and the body. However, prior to 'Dancing with the Stars' premiere, the star cleared that she was "feeling good" and "ready to compete" in the show. During Monday's show, Selma revealed that she had to step down from the show after seeing her result from several MRIs. The actress claimed about the show that "It's way too much for the safety of my bones, so I could do extensive damage." Well, this news left everyone in shock. Out of love, the judges gave a perfect score, 40/40, to the star. Seeing Selma walk out of the show was a heartwrenching moment for 'Dancing with the Stars' fans.

A fan tweeted, "Selma, it's sad that you chose to leave, but just a reminder that you've been an incredible player and you will always be dancing in our hearts". Another wrote, "Im absolutely very devastated that Selma Blair is leaving Dancing With The Stars due to doctor orders due to her leg injury due to MS! That final waltz was such a great sendoff to her so phenomenal journey on #DancingWithTheStars im so proud of her! My heart is truly broken!" Furthermore, a fan praise Selma, claiming, "Not even going to lie @SelmaBlair had me BAWLING. Omg. You've danced so beautifully and I'm so proud of you Selma for representing the disabled community and showing everyone that they can dance to. I was crying so much". "I adore Selma and it breaks my heart to see this disease ravage her. I have worried about her and I am in awe. I continue to fundraise for MS and pray for a cure. In 'Dancing with the Stars' Season 31 Episode 6, judges gave a 9s to Charli D'Amelio and saved perfect scores (all 10) for Selma. Indeed, judges knew that Selma was going to leave the show and they wanted the moment to be a special one for all. A fan tweeted, "I feel like the reason Len gave Charli a 9 was because they knew they’d give Selma 10’s and they wanted her moment to be more special". Another wrote, "I knew this was going to happen. But I'm so happy that Selma made it this far. Yes. I'm crying. She did her very best and it's all she can do when it comes to having a disability. I know. I've been there. Thank you Selma for fighting!" Furthermore, a fan appreciated the sho for bringing contestants like Selma. "The world needs more of Selma and Sasha's "final dance" Waltz Yes, I was balling my eyes out watching this. She really is a trooper! We love you, Selma!", wrote the fan. 



 



 



 

Selma's departure from the show left everyone crying. Let us hope for the star to get well soon and come back to the show somewhere in the future. Season 31 of 'Dancing With the Stars' airs live on Disney+ on Mondays at 8.pm ET/5.pm PT.
