LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Dancing with the Stars' Episode 5 represents the halfway point of season 31. Week 5 will run over two nights, October 17 and 18, due to the show's big move to Disney+.

Week 5 of 'Dancing With The Stars' will be the most difficult ever for the celebrity participants, as they will have to master and execute more routines than ever before. During Stars' Stories Week, the 12 surviving pairs will take part in a two-night event, presenting one routine for the Most Memorable Year episode on Monday, October 17, and another for Prom Night on Tuesday, October 18. The Most Memorable Year episode will showcase emotive anecdotes and performances that depict the stars' most formative years. Find out what to anticipate from this week's two-night special.

Prom Night will send the 11 participants who survived Monday's elimination to their high school proms. Prom Night also sees the return of the Dance Marathon, in which all 11 pairs dance simultaneously to hustle and then a Lindy Hop. Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman and Derek Hough will tap them out one at a time. Participants will receive additional points based on how long they stay in the Dance Marathon. The Prom King and Queen will be crowned as the last pair standing.

Week 5 of 'DWTS' will be difficult for the participants because they have only had to master one dance style every week thus far. Some pairs, including Gabby Windey and Val Chmerkovskiy, Charli D'Amelio and Mark Ballas, and Wayne Brady and Witney Carson, have made learning the new dances appear easy and have consistently led the scoreboard. Others, on the other hand, have failed to retain the subtleties of the many dancing forms. Learning and executing multiple and yet distinct dance genres in one week would undoubtedly put the 'DWTS' Season 31 participants under additional mental and physical strain. Fortunately, this season has been injury-free, although the performers have acknowledged that their bodies are aching as the battle heats up. The Dance Marathon will be a tremendous endurance challenge for the contestants of 'DWTS Season 31.'

The 'DWTS' Most Memorable Year episode may also be emotionally taxing for some of the competitors. In the past, celebrities have opted to communicate both happy and sad stories via dance. They've had emotional breakthroughs as they've talked about their recollections. The stars must be vulnerable, allowing their professional dance partners and the public into their private lives. During previous 'DWTS' Most Memorable Year programs, there have been some incredibly stunning moments that transcended the competition and produced works of art that drove fans to tears.

Double elimination is most likely to occur in Week 5

Jason Lewis, Teresa Giudice, Cheryl Ladd and Sam Champion have all been eliminated thus far. That leaves 12 contestants and six weeks to go in the competition (including week 5). As a result, viewers should probably expect a double elimination after the results of week 5. Double elimination will keep the pre-holiday finale on track. Remember that fan votes are very important in keeping celebrities in the contest.

'DWTS' Season 31 Week 5 will offer celebrities obstacles they have never experienced before in this contest. The season 31 cast, on the other hand, has proven to be one of the best ever. The 12 remaining pairs are a strong group, and 'DWTS' Stars' Stories Week is going to be emotional and unforgettable.

Season 31 of 'Dancing with the Stars' airs weekly on Disney+. Don't miss the performances of Most Memorable Year, Prom Night and a dance-off on Monday, October 17, and Tuesday, October 18.
