LONDON, ENGLAND: Apple TV's latest war drama series, 'Masters of the Air,' which narrates the story of the 100th Bomb Group during the Second World War, is connected to Steven Spielberg's 'Amazing Stories.'

Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, Dee Rees, Anna Boden, Ryan Fleck, and Tim Van Patten, ‘Masters of the Air’ is based on the 2007 book of the same name by Donald L Miller.

Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks reunited to produce ‘Masters of the Air,’ a series that highlights the endeavors of the 100th Bombardment Group of the American Eighth Air Force during the Second World War.

'Amazing Stories,' an American anthology series created by Steven Spielberg, and 'Masters of the Air' both shed light on the challenges faced by Ball Turret Gunners, who were confined in their compartments within a B-17.

The role of Ball Turret Gunners in the Second World War was highly perilous, and Spielberg's series emphasizes the gripping and deadly experiences of these soldiers.

In ‘The Mission’ from ‘Amazing Stories’, a gunner, trapped in his aircraft, awaits a rescue that might never happen. The gunner faces the prospect of being stranded or left behind, highlighting uncertainty and tension during the war.

In ‘Masters of the Air’ Episode 3, the 100th Bomb Group was briefed on a mission that would require them to fly deep into enemy territory in Germany.

However, the fog delayed their mission and many members of the 100th Bomb Group died, including a ball turret gunner nicknamed Baby Face.

In ‘Masters of the Air’ Episode 3, Sergeant William Quinn (Kai Alexander) is unable to save Baby Face from his gunner compartment, leading to his tragic death.

While both 'Amazing Stories' and 'Masters of the Air' center around turret gunners, their narratives significantly diverge in their conclusions. The conclusion of 'The Mission' in 'Amazing Stories' differs from the fate of Baby Face in 'Masters of the Air'.

The turret gunner in ‘The Mission’ manages to survive a plane crash against all odds but Baby Face dies as the B-17 explodes in midair.

‘Masters of the Air’ is now streaming on Apple TV+
