In ‘Masters of the Air’ Episode 4, William Quinn (Kai Alexander) and Charles K Bailey (Bailey Brook) reunite and embark on their journey to return to the base.

'Masters of the Air’ Episode 5 starts with the remaining crewmen going back to the base to prepare for another mission.

‘Masters of the Air’ Episode 5 starts by confirming that Major Harry Crosby (Anthony Boyle) is alive and is back at the 100th Bomb Group’s base.

He returns with Lt James Douglass (Elliot Warren) and Major Everett Blakely (David Shields) after surviving the horrifying ordeal.

In this episode, Crosby is promoted to group navigator because of his great performance during the mission. Joseph Bubbles Payne (Louis Greatorex) congratulates Crosby on his new promotion as the 100th Bomb Group leaves for another mission.

In ‘Masters of the Air’ Episode 5, the 100th Bomb Group is worried about their latest mission after losing even more of their colleagues in previous missions.

In the next mission, the group needs to target the railroad yards close to the city center. However, the group is concerned about bombing areas that are filled with civilians and not soldiers.

As the episode progresses, viewers notice that the bombing run over the city center is a success and the 100th group manages to hit its target.

Back at base, the team waits for the survivors to return. At the debriefing, they talk about the chaos of the current mission and what has happened to the rest of the unit.

Major Crosby learns that Bubbles has died. He quickly visits Bubbles' quarters and reads the letter that Bubbles had penned to Crosby's wife when he thought that Crosby had died.

In the last scene of episode 5, Crosby breaks down in tears after losing his best friend.
