Spoilers for ‘Masters of the Air’ Episode 3

LONDON, ENGLAND: Apple TV’s latest war drama series invites viewers to the most action-packed episode yet, ‘Masters of the Air’ Episode 3. If Gale Cleven and the audience felt the brutality of war in the first two episodes, episode 3 promises an even more jarring experience, albeit visually cinematic.

In ‘Masters of the Air’ Episode 3, the 100th Bomb Group undertakes their next and biggest mission so far. Similar to previous missions, not everyone reaches the end destination, with this episode's target being Africa.

Each episode of Apple TV’s ‘Masters of the Air’ has witnessed the death of several men from the Bomb Group. This time, the audience experiences the loss of someone they were more familiar with.

Despite this, Austin Butler and Callum Turner's characters, Gale Cleven and John Egan, make it safely to Africa, though Gale may be emotionally scarred once again.

In ‘Masters of the Air’ Episode 3, the mission becomes more complex as the group has to bomb two targets- the Messerschmitt 109 engine assembly plant in Regensburg, and factories in Schweinfurt. While the plan seemed solid on paper, or rather, the map, it faced numerous shortcomings during execution.

Amidst intense action, several members of the group at forced to abandon the ship and drop their bombs early. Amid this chaos, William Quinn is faced with a difficult choice—save his own life or stay back and try to save his friend Babyface's life.

Quinn's contemplation is a lengthy one, and ultimately, he chooses to abandon the ship, leaving Babyface to perish as the plane explodes. Although this death isn't extensively addressed in 'Masters of the Air' Episode 3, it serves as a poignant metaphor for the tough decisions these men have to make during war.

What happens to William Quinn?

After William Quinn makes the difficult decision to save his own life, leaving his friend to die, he safely lands in Belgium. There, he clarifies that he is American, not German, and a family provides him with food and water.

However, Quinn's journey takes a turn when he encounters rebels who present him with two options – escape or surrender. While 'Masters of the Air' Episode 3 doesn't reveal Quinn's response, it is anticipated that this aspect of the storyline will be addressed in subsequent episodes of the miniseries.

'Masters of the Air' Episode 3 is now available for streaming on Apple TV+.
