LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 22 contestant Scarlett Lee managed to secure herself a golden ticket to Hollywood despite originally being from America. Fans are flooding the internet, claiming that Scarlett should not be eligible for the show.
Since the show's name is 'American Idol,' its sole purpose is to showcase talents from America. However, Scarlett traveled all the way from London to seize this opportunity. Seeing Scarlett progress further in the show apparently raises concerns about her potentially taking the place of an American contestant.
A fan slammed the singer, "To me she shouldn’t be eligible! This is 'AMERICAN IDOL'! You shouldn’t be able to come over from another country to audition! If she migrated here is one thing, but to currently be living in London, I think she should have been turned away!"
Another wondered, "How are non Americans able to audition for 'American idol'." One agreed to this, "right? This is AMERICAN idol." Another wrote, "She was ok. Not great. Wasn’t she already on X factor UK???"

'Your trip was worth it': 'American Idol' judges drools over Scarlett Lee's performance
'American Idol' judges were left speechless after Scarlett's performance. As the performance ended, all three of them, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan, gave Scarlett a standing ovation.
Lionel, who seemed to be a little too impressed with the singer, said, "Oh my goodness." Scarlett was left crying as she thanked the judges. Lionel said to the singer, "You do know that your trip was worth it. It was so well executed." He added, "I really enjoyed what you did."
Luke continued to praise Scarlett, saying, "What I love is that you have a unique personality, a neat little aura, and vibe going on."

Katy confessed that she was taken aback when Scarlett said she was going to sing 'Clown' by Emeli Sande. She said, "I don't know if she's for real; I don't know if I'm taking you seriously. I don't know if you're from 'Love Island,' and this is some prank or personality piece because that is one of my favorite songs."
Katy then went on to claim that she knew Scarlett was wearing Alien by Thierry Mugler. Scarlett was shocked to see Katy accurately guess her perfume. She said, "That is my favorite perfume. How do you know it?" Katy replied, "I know girls like you in London."
All three judges went on to say yes to Scarlett, and she moved ahead to Hollywood week.
