'Next big cultural moment': WB Discovery CEO David Zaslav applauds HBO's 'House of the Dragon'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Fans can’t keep their calm since only a day is left for the curtain raiser of the much anticipated historical war saga prequel ‘House of the Dragon’. The series would be premiering globally on August 21, 2022, on both HBO and HBO Max. Set almost three hundred years before the ‘Game of Thrones’, George RR Martin’s lore represents a riveting saga of House Targaryen which went down into ashes after the most bloodied civil war ‘Dance of the Dragons’ that changed things permanently.
Speaking of people who have been raving about it constantly, even the Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav could not stop himself from giving plaudits and accolades to the well-etched storyline of ‘House of the Dragon’. He wrote an elaborate email to staffers on August 19, which discussed what he really felt after watching the first episode of the prequel.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Zaslav in his email to staff wrote, “The entire HBO team have shepherded what looks to be the next big cultural moment. I had a chance to watch the premiere in Los Angeles with HBO boss Casey Bloys and the team and was blown away by the quality of the production, richness of the story, and power of the action. It is something we should all be really proud of, and we cannot wait to share it with audiences worldwide.… We look forward to the start of this exciting new adventure, and to thrilling fans with the kind of buzzworthy cultural moments the Targaryen family is sure to deliver.”
Furthermore, he also added, “We reached nearly 130 million people in the U.S. alone. It has also been exciting to see teams across the company work collaboratively with the HBO team in what has been an unprecedented cross-promotional campaign. And we’ve done all of this in just a few short months, clearly showing what we can accomplish when our networks, streaming platforms, digital and social channels, all work collectively in support of one shared priority. We can really move the needle and I can’t wait to see what we will do on future campaigns when we harness the full reach and unique opportunities we bring to the table.”
For those who don’t know, the critic reviews have already started pouring in for ‘House of the Dragon’. They can’t stop themselves from raving about the excellent representation of the Targaryen family and the brilliant visuals as well.
