‘Yellowstone’ star Hassie Harrison joins ‘Baywatch’ reboot as series regular — here's what we know so far
'Yellowstone' alum Hassie Harrison is the latest addition to Fox's 'Baywatch' series. The actress will play Nat, a former foster kid turned Olympic athlete. The character is "the gold standard" in lifeguard duties. According to Deadline, "Brilliant, driven, and fiercely loyal, she’s the right hand and closest friend of protagonist Hobie Buchannon (Stephen Amell). Nat holds everyone to the same high standards she has for herself, which sometimes gets in the way of her relationships on and off the beach".
The update comes on the back of the latest casting developments with the series casting Thaddeus LaGrone as a regular. He plays Brad. Other recent additions include Jessica Belkin as Charlie Vale and David Chokachi, who reprises his original role as Cody Madison. Belkin's Vale is described as "Fearless, passionate, and occasionally reckless, Charlie has all the makings of a Buchannon legend. She has a lot to learn, however, and the father she never met might be exactly the mentor she’s always needed."
Harrison is best-known for recurring role as barrell racer Laramie in the three seasons of the hit Taylor Sheridan show. She most recently starred opposite Jai Courtney in Sean Byrne's 'Dangerous Animals'. Up next, she is expected to star alongside heavyweights Anthony Mackie, Pablo Schreiber, Ben Foster, and Ron Livingston in the thriller feature, 'Raven'. Matt Nix serves as showrunner and executive producer. The roster of executive producers also includes McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto, and Mike Horowitz, with McG also directing the series premiere.
'Baywatch' is slated to release on Fox as part of the 2026-27 season, with production starting in Los Angeles this Spring. The new series focuses on Hobie Buchannon (Stephen Amell) serving as Baywatch skipper. While much of the plot is under wraps, what's known is that Hobie is trying to follow in his father, Mitch's, footsteps. The classic original lifeguard drama was first released in 1989, with Jeremy Jackson playing Hobie. In its 11-season run, the show became one of the most-watched shows in the world. It starred David Hasselhoff and also helped launch the careers of the likes of Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra, Jason Momoa, and Yasmine Bleeth. The success also saw a feature film by the same name starring Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, and Alexandra Daddario, along with Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Kelly Rohrbach, Jon Bass, Ilfenesh Hadera, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in key roles.
