‘Marshals’ Episode 2 delivers a surprise cameo and we bet you didn't catch on
'Marshals' thrilled fans with some high-octane action in Episode 2, titled 'Zone of Death,' which aired on March 8 on CBS. Amidst all the drama and suspense, fans were treated to a cameo appearance from country singer Ashley Cooke. She joins a long list of country stars, including Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Lainey Wilson, who will appear in Taylor Sheridan's 'Yellowstone' universe. Music Mayhem Magazine shared the news about Cooke's appearance in the spinoff series on March 5, along with a video of her performance from the episode. The 'Yellowstone' sequel series debuted on March 1 and centers on Kayce Dutton's (Luke Grimes) life as a US Marshal, who is determined to protect his land in Montana from criminal activities.
The Florida native is not the only country singer tapped to star in the first season of 'Marshals.' Riley Green has also been confirmed to appear as a Navy SEAL named Garrett in the second-half of the police procedural series. But unlike him, Cooke didn't play a character on the show; she performed her country ballad 'Next to You' from her 2023 album, 'Shot in the Dark.' The 28-year-old singer gave fans a glimpse of her experience shooting for the episode as she shared behind-the-scenes pictures and videos on her Instagram account ahead of the premiere. She captioned the post, "tonight on @marshalscbs !! 8pm et @cbstv @paramountplus."
After deciding to join the US Marshals at the end of Episode 1, Kayce goes on his first official mission to stop a domestic terror attack in the second episode of 'Marshals.' His gang learns about a fentanyl deal taking place between the Aryans and the Royals at a place called the 'Zone of Death' near the Wyoming border, leaving Kayce rattled. Longtime fans of 'Yellowstone' will remember the location as the infamous 'Train Station' where the Duttons dumped the bodies of their victims. Cal (Logan Marshall-Green) and Kayce are forced to revisit past traumas during the daring mission, but they succeed in thwarting an attack on their soil. Cal and Cruz (Ash Santos) decide to unwind by heading to a bar for a drink. As they chat about Kayce's actions on the field, Cooke sings her track on stage and ends the episode on a soulful note. Fans can catch the next chapter in Kayce's journey when 'Marshals' returns with new episodes on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. The episodes can also be streamed the next day on Paramount+.
